Which 4K HDR TV are you planning to buy for Scorpio or One s?

Well depending on the size room you have the lg is 10 inches smaller. The Vizio p55 is on sale for 899.00. that's over 1000 cheaper . Also if you're going to do a lot of gaming on a television input lag is really important. The lg was tested at 53ms of input lag. The Vizio was tested at 17.3. that's a big difference ..The 65 inch version of that lg TV is 3500.00. also the lg does not support dobly vision.
Here are the reviews for both ...

This years OLEDs do HDR10 and Dolby Vision out of the box, no waiting for a firmware update like people who bought the vizio are doing. I paid $800 more for a 55 OLED over a 65" LED but it was well worth it IMO. Now I just need a UHD player.

$648.00 BANG!
Is that a good one?

Oh yeah. I have the 1080p with 120 and that makes all my games look like its all in 60 fps. Thats also including the 30 fps.

When i first looked at the i never jeard of that brand but when i did a research i found out its a very big company.

So i took a chance and got it....boy this was one of the greatest tv i have ever own for gaming.

I see this up and got it for the 4k version.

remember like 6 months ago when we bitched about 900p instead of finding a 4k set? We've all grown up a little.

Thankfully this 4k madness won't hit me until next year when 60"+, 4k, HDR sets are included in happy meals....

Focus on the Vizio 2016 p series . I recently purchased the 65 inch version . 75 is the largest they go . The p series supports both HDR formats as well .

I think the HDR adds like $800 to the Vizio TV's if I am not mistaken. 4K vs. 4K with HDR.

The p series has a much better quality panel as well as well as a much better backlight. It's just a step down from their reference series . Which is super high end.

Uncharted looking great along with all other PS4 games I've tried except for Everbodys Gone To The Rapture. Still has the same problem. I think it may be down to the AA it uses.

I think I will either get this or the 55inch model at Xmas in the sale....Have a 49 inch and its plenty for my front room

How much are the Samsung 4k HDR TVs going for right now? I don't think i'd go with anything other than a Samsung, i just love the experience i've had so far with my last two TVs.

I guess i could google it, but i needed to get my first post of the day out of the way. Thanks in advance.

i'd have loved to have gotten a larger screen size, but the 49" just... fits in the space i have. it's actually about the same size as the 47" LG its replacing and while it is a 2" bigger screen, the actual frame size is minimal on the new tv. so it fits.

the down side is that i cant hook Kinect over the top of the TV now, then again... not such a great loss as Kinect hardly got used.

Preordered my S and getting this one at weekend.

Does both versions of HDR. HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
I'm told HDR TV's can't do Dolby, but Dolby does HDR10. So a bit of win win if one becomes the standard.
One already is "standard". Currently, HDR10 is standard. It's now part of the UHD premium spec. The Dolby Vision is ironically the "dts" of HDR. It's a premium option.

I'm still holding out for a 4K projector to replace my 1080p DLP. Sadly, projector tech seems to be moving at a snail's pace, unlike the fixed panel world. I think so far, only Sony XRD tech is 4K ($$$), but there is a DLP/laser hybrid that in I'm hoping will take this to the next level within a year. Epson and Optoma both have something coming down the pipe. I hope they are reasonably priced.

If money wasn't a consideration, I would get an LG OLED set. Sad that very few companies are doing OLED to create competition and drive the prices down as the blacks/color on OLED is amazeballs. But since I have to live in reality, I'll be looking for the best bang for the buck in a 65" - 75" HDR set around the time Scorpio releases. I lean towards Samsung as I've been happy with my 1080p set but am open to other brands. I can go buy a 65" Samsung 4K HDR set for $1300 right now but I don't NEED it and I'm hoping prices come down even more (and maybe such that I can get a 75"). We shall see.

One thing I don't get with HDR.

If HDR makes colours better and brighter, what is the original intent of the content?

Is it a normal realistic pic, but "faked" with HDR to make it pop out more than it really should be?

Is HDR actually the real content it should be, but we all see subdued colours on our existing TVs because they suck, so HDR is really just putting the colours back to what it really is?

Can HDR mode be turned on or off?

I don't want my TV shows or games to be faked with unnaturally popping HDR colours if they shouldn't be there.

That's a good point about HDR......dunno what the answer is

I don't get all the habub about HDR. I think its something you can only notice when side by side.

Calling an SOS! VaLLiancE griff_dai GordoSan Intellivision !

My 1080p set JUST grew itself a line of dead pixels, so I am about to get me a 4k set, like NOW!
Need help quick or I will be buyin' solo!

I've got about 2 grand to work with and it needs to be at least 65 in!

I'm a projector guy but that's a fantastic display! People are going to be quick to note the lack of local dimming but I wouldn't be concerned...your still over 4000:1 native with exceptional brightness. Input lag is around 40ms which is acceptable in my book.

My only knock is the curved display...why not save a couple hundred and get the ks8000?

I happen to love the curved displays. Just seems to have much more depth

To each their own...

Your viewing environment plays such huge factor. In a dedicated theater room I would be leaning towards the vizio-p series. In a bright living room the Samsung will come into it's own.

Build quality goes to Samsung IMO, just go read the vizio owners thread over at avsforum.

I'm a projector guy too, but I think the curved scenes are kinda cool. People were actually making their own curved projection screens long before flat screen displays were available. I always thought about making one. Granted, they are cooler at over 80" :D

So, I pulled the trigger....BOOM!

So I spent a liiiiitle bit more than 2 thousand, lol..

Unfortunately, I have to wait until thursday, as they didn't have any in the store
Froz, what are you doing? Those TVs are getting bad reviews!

Just kidding, looks awesome. Never even heard of this quantum dot tech until just recently.

When Scoorpio comes out, I might as well get a 4k tv too. I've been a diehard Panny supporter for just about everything from A/V to my microwave, but a few years ago got a small Samsung TV for my bedroom. It was a no frills 720p TV and it's solid. And $100 cheaper than the similarly sized Panny I saw. So I'll probably go Sammy again in a few years.
