Yes it's WAYYYYYY different.

Can I use GP with PlayStation,Nintendo,TV's etc?
I play video games with Netflix?

How about in popularity? Is GP as known to the average consumer as NF?
Just to let you know they are some stream service app removed if contract is done or there is a dispute.

People returned TVs because YouTube was removed.

Same as twitch, removed from roku devices and I only works on some devices.

Plus why play GP on other non microsoft platforms?

Same insider from Era. Interesting, but like they’ve said, it’s still some form of custom RDNA.

I thought it was confirmed to use rdna2...
Here is the official quote...so far anyways:

AMD and Microsoft have co-designed and co-engineered a custom, high performance AMD SoC to power Project Scarlett to deliver an incredible gaming experience, including the next-generation of performance, graphics, lighting, visuals, and audio immersion. This processor builds upon the significant innovation of the AMD Ryzen™ "Zen 2" CPU core and a "Navi" GPU based on next-generation Radeon™ RDNA gaming architecture including hardware-accelerated raytracing.

Exactly what I've been saying all along. CPU and storage will have the most impact.
All this 'Lockhart is going to hold back the Series X' talk is from people who don't know how engines scale and what they scale most on.

How will it hold back games if its targeting 1080p sets like some of the rumors indicated previously? 4TF for 1080p custom builds isn't bad at all, especially with a much better CPU.

I will be forever perplexed how people fall into that logic trap.

It's as if they haven't seen games like GTA V which started on 360/PS3 looking great, then released on One/PS4 looking even better (grass-gate aside, lmao) and then looking somehow better still on PC later. Same thing with Doom 2016, we saw good console versions.. the PC version gave higher-end GPU's a workout and then they boosted the Xbox One X version to looking f***ing amazing and then fearlessly dropped their game down to toaster spec and got it running on Nintendo Switch.

Developers aren't f***ing idiots; they can and will take advantage of any hardware you put in their way if they are given the budget for it.

It's gonna be $599, isn't it?

According to Phil:

“I would say a learning from the Xbox One generation is we will not be out of position on power or price,” says Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s Xbox and gaming chief, in an interview with The Verge. “If you remember the beginning of this generation we were a hundred dollars more expensive and yes, we were less powerful. And we started Project Scarlett with this leadership team in place with a goal of having market success.”

So the Xbox Series X is either the same price or less than the PS5, OR Lockhart exists. If Lockhart exists, that could put them as the market leader in price and performance, via 2 console options. Making what he said "technically" true.

As I've said in other threads, I don't think power is going to play as a significant part in the console war between MS and Sony as everyone thinks. Content and experiences will. While imo Sony has a significant leg up with their 1st party offering and 3rd part relationships ( specifically devs in Japan), MS's game-pass has the potential to change the landscape dramatically, especially if they can get some more big name AAA games and indies on the service.
It wouldn't surprise me if the XBSX has a month of gamepass bundled in with every system.

In a perfect world the system would be $499.99 at most but with the leaked/rumored specs, I'm fearing/preparing for $550-599.

I have no problem with $599, but MS needs to be competitive. They are DOA if all they have is a $600 console to fight a $399 PS5. But maybe Sony expects a higher priced PS5 this time around? They did say that the PS5 will be a niche console aimed at hardcore gamers.

Power will be the big decision point for fanboys of the more powerful console, Sony's studios will be the decider for team blue diehards, Game Pass for team green, and hopefully everyone else can make whatever decision works for them. We all win when nobody loses.

This gen I didn’t choose the most powerful as my multiplatform console. I should have early on when the consoles debuted and bought them on the PS4. Next gen I will buy them (multiplatform titles) for the most powerful as I mostly play single player.

well to be fair, people thought that was going to be the price of the XBOX ONE X when it was rumored as a high price console and we all know it was at $499.99

Im just flabbergasted at how every year we have people predicting $600 for a console after the PS3. No one in their right mind would charge that price again for a console. Not a chance. I mean, how many times do we have to be proven wrong on this thing. It's literally $499 or bust!

It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. If the leak I posted recently is correct, it’s $550. Even at that price, it’s gotta be a net loss per console for now, right?

The PS5 is looking like it’s hitting a sweet spot fo power and performance, and I don’t know how many fans will jump to the X or get both.

Lockhart just became more interesting as well, as I’d expect it to be $299 at most...maybe even $249..?

For new casual consumers that might be enough of a difference to go with MS.

My guess:
$600 XSX
$500 PS5
$350 Lockhart

To those that don't believe $600 could work because of PS3 you should to take into consideration everything PS3 had going against it at the time.
The majority of multi plats ran significantly better on 360 than PS3 while the 360 was $200 cheaper.
Outside of Blu Ray Movie collectors Who would pay $200 more for worse performance and graphics?
360 had a year to amass a half descent library of games which was contrary to the absolutely s*** PS3 launch line up.
In 2020 the market economy has changed. Inflation is real.
Other expensive electronics like cell phones are purchased yearly or bi yearly for upwards of $1200 making a $600 high powered console that will last 7 years seem like a bargain in comparison.
$600 is not expensive when you consider the great value that game pass brings with it. In fact I'd argue that $600 + GP is a much better value than PS5 for $500 + 4 full priced games.
When considering inflation $600 in 2020 is comparable to $500 in 2006.

There is a lot wrong with that leak.
I feel 99.99% certain its fake. MS is not going to give any store the Specs of their console before they make any official announcements.
The #'s don't match. Its 12.2 TF's & 4 TF's. Have not seen any rumor about Lockhart coming in at over 6 TF's.
MS is not paying $150 for a UHD player so how could the all digital edition save you $150. $50 tops for that.
Really doubt MS could launch a 6.8 TF console with HWRT, 16Gigs of GDDR6, 8 core Zen 2 CPU, Super Speed SSD for $250. Hell that would be a $400 console easy.
In the original video that showed the first Scarlett SOC there was no evidence of 4 Gigs of DDR4.
