I'm totally okay if you spill the beans, Sony won't care.

I was upgrading about every 3-4 years give or take but I don't see a compelling reason to upgrade from my 2016 65" Sammy KS8000 at this point. By far my favorite TV I've ever owned. I mean I still look at other TVs all the time but that's just general tech envy that all of us nerds have .I'm with you . My main TV is still my Samsung KS8500 curved screen from 2016. Are there better TVs? Sure, but it still looks fantastic and is low latency with around 1500 nits HDR. There is no way I can justify to myself buying a replacement. I've bought other 4k tvs (lower end, newer Sammy and an LG with horrendous edge-lighting issues) since, and they don't touch it. It's a great TV.

That's probably what it'll take for me too, lol.I'm with you. I wasn't going to upgrade from my KS8000 but the backlight in it went bad and Samsung wanted too much money to repair it.
Sure, the techie in me wants to upgrade much more quickly but once you start spending $2K+ on TVs, the new features need to be must haves to upgrade. Until the XSX/PS5 come out and we see the results of the new features, I'll keep my current TV which supports 4K/60. We shall see!If you want teh next gen tech! you upgrade
Well Dolby Vision is something missing from your Samsung TV and it is good as the hype with the right displays.Sure, the techie in me wants to upgrade much more quickly but once you start spending $2K+ on TVs, the new features need to be must haves to upgrade. Yeah, I'd like to see Dolby Vision on a good TV. I have a TCL 6 series that has DV in my bedroom but IMO, it doesn't even come close to touching the PQ of the Sammy. I have my Xbox One S drving that display. At $600 though (2 years old now), it's a decent TV and I do really like the built-in Roku. Funnily enough, I had my Samsung display wired to my network but reclaimed the cable for another purpose and forgot to setup the wireless...I setup the wireless and updated the TV a few days ago, so I'll have to go check the notes on the updates I missed to see if VRR was included. Thanks for the tip.Well Dolby Vision is something missing from your Samsung TV and it is good as the hype with the right displays.
But HDMI 2.1's 120hz won't affect those who don't care about the differences with it and 60hz but VRR can be important as well.
Not sure if that model got VRR in a update...
Hasn't occurred yet. Event starts at 4PM Eastern. So I guess that AMD thing was a load of BS?
so they bo perform the same, just one will looks miles better over the other if they want to pay that kind of hardware.Nope not at all. Lockhart will just run games at 1080p/1440p instead of "4K" like Series X.
