One core is dedicated to the os and other backend/dev-stuff... dono how that would affect performance if they remove one or more

For sure, definitely needs 8 cores with ability to multi thread. Just saying if it’s a 1080p machine it won’t have to be clocked as high as SX.
I just think if the CPU is up to scratch and the SSD is still as fast, I don’t see why it would hold the SX back. The GPU only pushing a quarter of the pixels on a 3rd of the power shouldn’t be a problem, obviously RT might not be as good should but will hopefully still be capable.

Sounds too good to be true.

However:

"Everwild gameplay will be there, its Rare studios game i believe they showed some trailer already last year, anyway, heavy co-op game, but not like Sea of Thieves. with release date. "

How do you not know this....you only "believe" they showed "some" trailer last year?

it’s like most out there saying they’re hearing rumblings or predicting that there’s gonna be a streaming event soon even though companies from Xbox to ign have stated long ago, after e3’s cancellation, that they were gonna have special events to substitute it

To be fair, it was a very forgettable trailer.

Just a reminder, I post ALL the rumors I find, no matter how fake or real they might be, for novelty purposes only. If they end up being taken too seriously, I can’t be held responsible!

Damn, I really wanted to get that Simpson‘s quote in there, but it didn’t quite work.

It's a good call. Techland would be at the top of my draft board of the realistic devs left on the board. People who'd argue against them will point out that Xbox doesn't need more zombie games or shooters but I think Techland has the talent to build a new IP similar to a Killzone to Horizon ZD transition. Especially since they added Avelone.
Dying light is one of the best zombie games out there though. Techland would be an insane get! I'm betting the pulled some rabbit out of the hat on a Japanese studio.

Can someone decipher all the games mentioned there?

What is the Sega game ‘everyone has been asking for?..?

Looks the Initiative game is quite possibly Perfect Dark..?

I found the footage from E3 2013 (!) of the Black Tusk (now Coalition) project that never came to be, maybe this is what The Initiative has been working on..?

Obsidian game...?

‘Todd pointing to the stars’...?

The logo must be real, Aaron has it on his Twitter now.

Got reminded of Wipeout by that pic, I played wipeout 2097 last week on PS1 and can confirm it holds up still, actually feels like a game that could be released today without anyone thinking it was an old game (in regards to control/ gameplay).
Come to think of it... whatever happened to that IP?

I'm down for Microsoft buying Crytec. Ryse was criminally underrated IMO and also one of the best looking games during the entire generation.
Yeah, I had talked about Crytek acquisition in a different thread. Not sure where the CryEngine sits among developers (I mean I know UE is more popular but maybe there are shortcomings that CryEngine addresses?) but my thinking was getting an established engine a bunch of "good" IP would be a good get (I mean MS has to pay a good chunk of $$$ to Epic for publishing games using UE). Also, not sure how flexible Slipspace engine is and if they plan to use it outside of Halo.

That said, Techland would be a good get as I also think Dying Light is the best zombie game this gen. They own the IP but I think that after DL2, they would want to do something different. Really hoping either one of these studios gets got. Keep hearing the rumors that MS has acquired 2 new studios so...*crosses fingers*.

Obsidian game...?
Believe this is a new Pillars of Eternity game he is referencing (googling the quote brings back a reference to Pillars). You have to remember that Obsidian has 2 full teams (and a small group working on Grounded). They have the CRPG top down team (Pillars), the 3D RPG team (Outerworlds). They could double down on these 2 IP (along with Grounded) or we could see either team make something new. Guess we'll find out something soon!

Here is a link I found RE: Obsidian and teams from early 2019: https://www.pcgamer.com/obsidian-has-three-ish-teams-working-on-different-projects/

"We have The Outer Worlds team, which is the majority of our development," Urquhart says in the video. "We saw the small group of people that are finishing up in Pillars of Eternity. And then we have two other teams that are starting things up."

One of those was grounded and maybe the other was PoE3. Now that Outerworlds is out and finshed, maybe that team is working on the next Outerworlds or something new.

Don't know about t

sounds pretty f***ing dull on the Xbox front.

And why is inexile doing a VR game when Xbox iisn't interested in VR.

They were already working on VR game when Microsoft picked them up. Perhaps a better question is why is Microsoft purchasing several studios that are specifically already working on VR projects if they are not really interested... 🧐

So MS doesn't want to give us a new Banjo but they've got VR games down the pipe line. :meh:
