Random question, does anyone know if you can disable the option to turn on the Xbox with a controller? My headset is wireless and whenever I want to use them to just watch TV it will always turn on the Xbox as well.

I think it would be cool to see Forza encompass all motor sports - land, air, and water.

Might be too ambitious of a goal, but it would be pretty cool none the less.

they do share the same water tech between Forza horizon 3/4, sot, gears, and I think pubg.

if they spin it off to maybe sumo studios or the likes it could work.

Hell maybe they could get ahold of some of the tech from the new flight sim game, it could work...or just call it Forza: Flight Simulator Sport

Not sure if the rumor is legit but they're good educated guesses. If I would've put together my own educated guess list, 2 of them were on that rumor. Just for s***s, here's my (somewhat) educated guesses prior to reveals:
  • Techland buyout
    • Microsoft was recently in Poland looking. They've been rumored to be looking for a bigger studio since last year and Poland is the right spot to accomplish that. The per capita expense of developers is less in Poland than most other territories. Also fits the mold where Microsoft looks for studios with top end creative talent who are in regions where they can poach additional talent. Chris Avelone, formerly of Obsidian, is a creative lead and the studio has been successful with an original IP. There are other notable studios in the region that can be poached if Micorosft wants to create multiple teams there. This is more a guess by elimination as CDPR is too expensive for 1 game a gen while People Can Fly don't have great creative talent. They're more technically competent. Techland gives them a lot of bang for the buck for a big studio who can become more.
  • Japanese Partnerships
    • Microsoft were rumored to have struck out buying anyone notable in Japan despite Phil going on record that he was trying. Microsoft could build up a smaller studio or start from scratch but that takes time and they need some short term impact. Partnerships that could happen:
      • Sega - They've worked well with Western businesses, already have one of their studios making a 2nd party game for Microsoft (Relic) and have some games coming to Game Pass day 1. I'm expecting a longer term deal that will include future Sega games to Game Pass. Sega has console nostalgia and PC presence today. It's the perfect mix of East and West, console and PC.
      • From Software - They're publicly owned so unlikely to be bought however their recent partnership with Activision and previous 2nd party games with Microsoft (Otagi) show they'll take a bag from anyone. Microsoft will try to get their own From Software exclusive to counter Bloodbourne.
  • New Japanese Studio....but they're a long ways off from producing anything notable
    • I'm going to assume Spencer is going to try leveraging an old relationships as that's been his pattern. Either Itagaki or Sakaguchi. A few months ago, Itagaki tweeted something cryptic prior to an Xbox event which made people speculate about him. His current team is small and unspectacular however I could see Microsoft trying to build up a team around him the way they're doing it with Fargo at InXile due to his connections and industry credibility. His best games in the past also have appeal to both Eastern and Western gamers. A mix of a Sega IP like Shinobi and the former Ninja Gaiden Black master seem like a match that someone needs to make happen.
  • AAA 3rd party games day 1 into Game Pass
    • They will back up the truck to gain either Cyberpunk or Elden Ring into Game Pass day 1. Many recent AAA marketing deals have seen those games come to Game Pass within a reasonable amount of time. I'm expecting Microsoft to take that up a notch with a new gen around the corner and an all in push to promote Game Pass with it. Witcher 3 did not sell well on Xbox relative to other platforms however it's DLC did have a good attach rate. On top of taking the up front money, CDPR could double dip with a lot of people who wouldn't normally have bought the original game now buying the DLC.
  • Crytek 2nd party game (maybe Ryse)
    • Microsoft is on record that Global Publishing has cut deals. They need to push hard early with 2nd party because there's likely going to be a 2 year gap between Halo Infinite and when Microsoft's bigger 1st party games from their new studios release. Historical evidence would indicate most of those teams making AAA games won't start releasing games until 2022 at the earliest. Crytek have had financial struggles this gen, recently released a AA game that was not a commercial success...yet are suddenly hiring for a AAA project. They got money from someone. Spencer was head of publishing when they signed for Ryse. Phil is on record saying that he thought there was something there to build on with the original. Either way, Crytek is a great option if you need a tech demo to push your new console.
What are your educated guesses that we'll see over the next few months?

It's a good call. Techland would be at the top of my draft board of the realistic devs left on the board. People who'd argue against them will point out that Xbox doesn't need more zombie games or shooters but I think Techland has the talent to build a new IP similar to a Killzone to Horizon ZD transition. Especially since they added Avelone.
