Wait for the new Elite cause the Elite 2 doesn't have everything the new controller has like the share button.

the e2 does share the same buttons and placement as the new controllers...I wonder if one could set it up to have the same features only if you want to switch between profiles yours have to press and hold to go to the next one. You can then just tap once for screenshot and tap twice for video clip.

and they did say that older controllers will get the same software updates as the new one, like the low latency/lag one they’ve mention already

but I’ll probably wait for the new one as well, I wanna see what new bits of kit they add

Feel like Klobrille should be in their marketing department. I'd buy that console for my kid. He definitely isn't getting a Series X anytime soon.

i wish the paddles had more resistance, I tend to flick them by accident sometimes. Love them though

Paddles are loose but it makes them great for quick actions. I used an upper paddle to block in Sekiro and it saved me.

This is true however I don't expect Elite 3 anytime soon. Took a lot of years between 1 and 2. Minus the share button, it's everything else you'd want in a controller.

To much money to not just wait and I can assure you 3 won't take as long with a new console coming.
Plus I'm pretty sure more than the share button is different.

I'm really enjoying playing with a controller that has an extra button next to each bumper, I think the extra buttons really helps not having to take your finger off the stick to reload, change guns etc.

You can button map the "take screenshot" or "record this" on the Elite 2 controller.

Honestly, if the only difference is 1080p vs 4K then i'll buy Lockhart over the XSX. 4k is nice but i just don't need it. spending another 200 quid on something I don't need or careabout seems careless.

I got an 4k tv and to be honest, I dont care for it either. 1440 is more than plenty.
But again, I got the TV on a good price.

on the elite 1 as well, and on any controller with the chat pad attached, it has two separate buttons to map them to anything.
Unless there was some update in the past 6 months, only the Elite 2 allowed this.

Thats just them reporting on the Article by Windows Central, i think.

It is. I hate giving WCCFtech clicks because its an untalented s*** website that does nothing more than report a mishmash of other peoples legit credible work and mix that with Youtuber rumors and speculation. That's directly from the Windows Central article.

Thats no offense to Rollins of course. We love what you do here!

Tbh I skimmed the WC article, so Yeahhhh. 😂.

That being said, I posted that because I thought the ‘no code changes’ part was pretty interesting.

But now I know the WCCFtech hate is real!

Makes sense. It's just a standard effect of an SSD being faster. That's zero work, out of the box on an existing game with stupid long load times. To get that new hotness you have to program your game for it. I'm sure it'll be the same for Sony (albeit faster because its a faster drive). I have no doubt different games handle streaming and data access differently. From what I understand, it's having the specific id attached to the assets that allow them to take advantage of the I/O integration. MS' fast solution involves theVelocity Engine thingie, and it no doubt needs to be specifically utilized.

Still a 40x jump should be bigger.
After tinkering with it they are getting another 36x?
Seems a bit of a stretch to me but I honestly don't know and can't wait to play it on XSX.

What hardware do you think needs to be in the Scarlett to do pretty much everything the SX will do but 1080p? So the SX isn’t held back.

1/3 the GPU power to push a quarter of the pixels seems fine.

The CPU won’t need to be 3.6 ghz for 1080p (2.8-3.0 ghz?)

A 500GB SSD for cost instead of 1TB (would the install size be less with smart delivery?)

Should still have dedicated RT hardware, again for 1080p doesn’t need the same cores as SX

This should be a no brainier for people not looking to upgrade to a 4K tv. Getting the next gen experience whilst saving 150/200$

One core is dedicated to the os and other backend/dev-stuff... dono how that would affect performance if they remove one or more
