No USB C...
Right, so compatible with more items most have at home. I would have liked USB C personally though. Then again, I only will have my Xbox One external HDD plugged into the back. I don't use the USB ports for anything. My Elite 2 controller is on my charging dock that it came with.

So now the question is, will they have another event before launch to showcase games running on the X?

They'll announce an event for the end of the month, Sony will announce one for October, MS will show off XCloud games, Sony will show the same games they've showed the last two times, and everyone will just wonder WTF.

And Sony will announce Miles Morales for the PS3 in a Mic Drop Moment

They need to show games running natively on the Series X before the thing even launches lol. I think we have seen more native gameplay on the Series S than we have seen on the Series X. They need to show off Series X enhancements.

So I sure hope they are planning something.

domt forget they’ll announce the series e, really and x just sans a 4k drive but ribbed

Now that it's official Sony will be taking a blood bath on their $400 PS5 Digital Edition the Series S is looking like a terrible value in comparison at $300. A $300 Series S will net you a Weak 4TF GPU, tiny 500 GB SSD, 10 GBs of Ram at 225 GBps with wifi 5 vs a 10TF GPU, 800 Gig Super Speed SSD, 16 Gigs of Ram at 440 GBps with wifi 6. Easily worth the extra $100.

The all digital SX is a no brainer and what I would prefer to buy. Maybe they think adding 3 SKUs at launch is a step too far.

Problem is since MS has so much invested in Game Pass I don't think they could reasonably charge $400 for an all digital XSX.
It would likely be $500 or at best $450 for a XSX DE.
Sony will still sell millions of 1st party titles at full price allowing them to subsidize the price of the DE at $400.
MS on the other hand will try to make GP profitable. Giving away a DE console at $200 less than cost would basically rob any GP profits and make the investment unsustainable.

Series S is looking more and more like a terrible idea after Sony announced their DE at $400.
XSX DE at $400 would be great but the fact MS opted to cheap out on the GPU, Ram and SSD in order to sell the Series S at $300 likely means they won't drop the price too much on a XSX DE.

Try?
Let me tell you something, MS knew this is where Sony was going and now that the price is out MS will be killing it with its value.

What MS needs to do and demonstrate like how Dirt today with its gameplay running on Series S, which looks incredible.

I hope you're correct.
I want good competition in the console space.
That is just my opinion. The extra $100 for the PS5 DE seems like a no brainer to me vs a XSS.

You say its only $100 more but saving the extra $100 for a Series S plus GPU is a ridiculous value. It'll sell gangbusters. This narrative that a $399 PS5D makes Series X look bad, is hyporbolic AF. Stahp!
