The reason there is so little 60fps games on consoles, is same as there is so little plus size women in porn. There is very little demand.

60 and higher FPS is meaningful if visuals isn’t compromised, and Competitive gaming. and poeple who care about them mostly play on PC.
That is just sizeist. Fat chicks need people mastabating over them too.

Visuals will always be compromised if shooting for 60fps on a closed hardware box though. You have to render your frame in 16.7 ms for it to be 60fps.

60fps is in 2 of the most popular games,COD and FN.
More people play those games on consoles.

Yeah, I think that people have a different perspective on the USB-C thing depending on what phone they have. I have a Galaxy S10+, which came with a USB-C to USB w/ UBS wall plug by default. My wife has a Google Pixel 2, which came with a USB-C to USB-C w/ bigger wall plug. I absolutely prefer my USB-C to USB cable because it works with my car and laptop. I'm sure that as more tablets and smaller connecting devices go USB-C, the other type will start to mK more sense.

Here's the thing though, either one of these cables can be found DIRT CHEAP, and IN BULK online! There's never a time where you are stuck, and it's not like there's a data cap with the either one. I'm surprised they didn't go for a C on the front, but then again, I probably wouldn’t use that anyway because my current cables are only C on one end anyway.
I just like that you can plug em any way you want, lol.

This price talk can suck it, I always get hopeful when I wake up and there's a couple pages of convo I've missed, and it's all about price wars.
True, but the closer we get to release, the more relevant it becomes...

Ok. Simple question. Did your X1X look better downsampled to 1080P or when using the actual native 4K res?
Dude, on a 4k tv, 1440p upscale will look much better than 1080p upscaled. 1440p supersampled to 1080p will look better than 1080p native. It's not hard.

This way people who have a 4k tv but dont want to spend 500 bucks will still get a better IQ. It's a non issue. That said, I bet we see more 1080p games than 1440p.

He doesn't get it. Just leave him be.

He thinks that no one with a 4K TV is going to buy a Series S.

He also doesn't understand the fact we are already seeing this with a lot of PS4 Pro and Xbox One X games are 1080p, 1440p or some other res natively and upscaled to 4K or downscaled to 1080p, Series S will do the same.

It's a waste of resources for controller players, and for console players seeing as only a handful of TV's support it now. For precision device users like a mouse 60+fps is not. I cannot go back to locked 60fps on PC while using a mouse. It's even a large difference on my desktop where I have a 1440p 144hz monitor and a 4K 60hz monitor side by side for extended desktop.
Sure, but aren't consoles best in that space? Designed around Controllers. Hell, I still like using my controller on PC unless it's a really fast paced game and I have to use a mouse.

I'm sure they are using the number as a marketing tool, but to me, it seems like a really unnecessary use of processing power. Certainly as a focal point.

Even 4k can look too sharp to me without some post processing effect taking the edge off.

I use my elite 2 controller on PC too, I've been playing Shadow of Tomb Raider with it lately. I agree though 120fps on consoles is really just a number thrown out there to wow people.

And nowhere did I say that wasn't the case. Why is that so hard. But it won't be better than 108OP. Unlike on PC with the preset graphic options, they can utilize the wasted power usage and make 1080P better.

Why is so hard to grasp that nobody can use the native res? It is literally impossible outside a small percentage of PC gamers. You aren't utilizing the native res via supersampling, you just get a small benefit. This isn't hard either.

It is just strange the native res is one we can't actually play it. Which is all I said originally. Not sure why that was hard to grasp either.

Didn't say that at all. But keep making up bulls***.

As far as I know, if a game has variable resolution the new consoles will be able to push it as high as possible. If locked then I don’t think there’s much MS can do unless the dev starts tinkering.
Was variable resolution a thing on OG Xbox and 360? I ask because we're getting 4K on some of those old games games on Xbox One X... Or are those cases where the developers were involved? I'm a little unclear how they were able to pull that off. Either way, it still seems there should be a specific "Series S mode", imo.
