Hey, so, anyone with any tips on how to get a better response with Kinect on the XBO? Im about 70% with commands. Id like to get at least 92.5%....Dayum!

Make sure you calibrate your Kinect and while you are doing it, turn the volume up as loud as you can stand it. It will help with the microphone recognizing you against background noises. Other than that, make sure you are using voice commands correctly. You need to say the full name of any apps or games you are trying to access.

I probably just need to re-calibrate my Kinect but the "Xbox On" command doesn't work very well for me. It works maybe 65% of the time, even if i shout at the thing. Every other voice command works great.

Right. So I was donwloading RYSE and watching something on Netflix. I get the notification that RYSE is ready. I launch the game, press start campaign, and now Im stuck on another install screen. WTF? MS needs to lock these downloads....down. Sheez.

lol, annoyed me too. You need to install ALL updates before being able to play some games apparently... really a negative when you have both consoles.

RYSE.......................................................is still installing. Damn! o_O
Sounds like it hasn't improved much since the launch. Took me 4 or 5 hours to get a game in when I unboxed and setup back in November. I know you can now chose to pause some downloads under My Games and Apps which should in theory allow you speed one.

I wonder if this is a connection issue. I have a 50mb down 10mb up connection and i downloaded Tomb Raider and was playing withing 30 minutes.

Next time install smaller games first. I bought most if the launch games but I was playing rather quickly doing that as they installed after that.
Since then I usually start a download before I take my daughter to school and start playing when I get home in about an hour. I do have a very fast internet connection though.

Really not liking the sound of all that. Why does it all have to be installed with the new consoles? I sure as hell am going to miss the 360's ways when i buy X1 i'm sure. :(

Speaking of updates, I don't understand why game like forza needs me to do 800MB update when it's not an update and is just adding DLC cars that I'll never buy. Shouldn't DLC content be optional download and not mandatory.

It all depends on your internet connection, it took me less than an hour to be playing NFS

How long has it been since you started? Sounds like the same problem I had.

Yeah, I turned Forza 5 on a couple of days ago and it says installing update... for stuff I didn't buy.

So it's not like it differs per game? I think i am going to have a tough time with my 1.2MB/sec (download) connection.

Yikes! Where are you livin' man? Europe, right? I thought they had some pretty fast speeds over there. I've just upgraded to 50mbps( more for higher data data limits than speed (350gigs/mo), as I was at 30mbps, but that only got me 250 gigs/mo. Man, I hate data caps). Even when I lived out in the sticks here in Texas I got 6mbps.

On another note- I just downloaded Guacamelee from Free With Gold and am LOVING it. It's pretty, sharp, and has a good combat system. There is even a bit of challenge.

i am really shocked how bad internet is in america, in UK most areas have fibre for ridiculously affordable prices with speeds up to 120mbps with no caps. i dont think you can even get internet with caps here anymore.

Yeah i live in Holland man. Thing is, this is a rather basic internet connection and very affordable. It's quite clear i'm gonna have to find another provider before September. Cause this one won't be able to give me more speed.

That is not too bad at all. What is your maximum download speed?

True. For the X1 is does depend on your internet connection. For a certain under next gen console that shall remain nameless, it does not. So there is also a design factor to consider which I can only assume Microsoft might be be able to improve.

I think it has something to do with the read speeds of blu ray being to slow. I think that's why you had to install games on PS3 but 360 used dvd so could play straight from the disk

Ryse finished installing at about 1:30am in the morning, Pacific. We're talking about from early in the evening to the next day. Thats re-DONKULUS!! However, At around 8pm I talked to a MS tech on chat and for my troubles she sent me the code for my very own free version of, wait for it....................................KILLER INSTINCT!! I havent even looked at dat muffugah as it told me from the JUMP that it may take some time to load. Probably'll be finished this same day and time in 2015....Bastards! o_O

I said, damn, damn, damn! Thats C.S. for you right there though, right?

Anyhow, RYSE is incredible ( what I played of it so far...) I was two steps from tossing that sum bish right out my patio window but, at the end of the day (literally) it was worth it. I hope no one else had to go through that though, or will have to.

I bought T.R. too. Popped it in, it downloaded for a bout twenty minutes. Before it was even completed it allowed me to play. Weird how that didnt happen with Ryse though. What in the actual f***?!

Not going to lie though; RYSE installation literally tainted my experience with the XBO in a negative way that I wasnt expecting. Up until then I've been enjoying the hell ouf it. Now Im a bit concerned that something like this may happen again....I sure hope not. Thats insane to have to deal with a problem like that on your first real experience with a brand new system. MS needs to hop on that little situation, and quickly!
