Are you being willfully obtuse? It literally says that there is no price change for current 6/12 month subscribers and that if you choose to renew, it will RENEW AT YOUR CURRENT PRICE.
It says “your current price”, as in the subscriber’s current price. If they are currently pay $60 for 12 months and renew, then it renews at $60, not at $120. They literally say there is no price change for them.
I’m not sure about your suggested scenario. I believe if you don’t renew GP and subscribe to Gold after that, then it would be at the new price.
I’m curious how much better it can even look, the screen space reflections are really good

For those that have the console is it worth it? What games do you own and stand out? I found one on craigslist for 610 but I am in two minds as we already own a PS5.
Forza horizon 4, sea of thieves, call of the sea, ori and the will of the whisp on Xbox really just pop with hdr, loading times are hella short. For ps5 The last of us 2 and Astros playroom look fantastic too....I need to play more games
If you already have a good library of xbox games and play the enhanced ones it's definitely worth it. Fast loading (which applies to games not even enhanced)? Crisp visuals and frame rate are all very nice. Even if you don't have many games there's plenty on GP to try out. Even cyberpunk runs much smoother then my X1X.
Gears 5 120fps alone is worth the price of admission.(IMO)
Plenty of older game enhancements.
THUS FAR better than PS5 sound via headphones and AVR.
2021 and future games lineup.
If you aren't hellbent on having one ASAP I would say wait until later in the year.
Gears 5 through my av system is continually impressive.
Worth every penny in my experience. But don’t spend $610. Wait till you can find one at retail.

It’s a BOTW rip-off, but that being said, it’s tons of fun and it’s the first game in a looong time that I had a full-day binge session on.
Getting near the end, but I don’t want to be over!
