I changed my mind a bit on the Bethesda deal, I still don't like platform holders buying publishers but it seems like they (bethesda) were looking to be picked up and if it had to be MS, Google or Amazon I'm glad it was MS. I don't think Sony would have done it and I also don't think they would have been a very good fit either. I think Sony first party could make better games in the same genres that Bethesda works in. I am hopeful one of Sony's first party will do an open world fantasy action RPG with much faster/tighter gameplay than ES.
As far as games that are coming, if I weren't such an impulse buyer I would have waited a year or two, there is nothing they have announced that's coming soon that I want. I'm thinking fable is probably 2 years away at best, same with Elder Scrolls. I have no idea if Starfield is going to be any good and I have no interest in Hellblad 2, the first one got boring after about 20 minutes. I probably won't be using my Series X all that much for a while but hopefully they make some surprise announcements for this year.
I won't deny that but it's because I was such a fan before and they've made so many poor choices, things that were obvious but these high paid execs couldn't get it right. Just look at what's going on now, no major 1st party game for the new consoles and we are almost 6 months into it, it looks like nothing was planned other than Halo for the entire first year plus and only 3 AAA games in the last four years that's just terrible management. People praise Spencer all the time and they can make excuses about the company as a whole not giving them the resources that they need but a customer shouldn't have to be understanding about one of the richest companies in the world cheaping out on a product they've sold you, xbox fans should be angry not making excuses.
