Also go into network settings, advanced then do mac address clone and then you should see an option to reset network settings if you do that it could help.

In your router you should have an option called DMZ which exposes all ports for a specific ip. Or there should be an option to select a device and have all the ports opened to it.

Also make sure to clear all the port forwarded things if doing dmz or selecting device to be exposed. Know that only one ip can have one specific port open, you can't forward port 80 to eg. 192.168.1.101 and to 192.168.1.103

This is why people love Linksys as it makes all these things very simple and easy to do

How do you get "in" your router. I don't see it on my pc. Are you referring to the in browser online set up site? I tried going to mine, but it never loaded

Yup, very simple indeed, just connect X1 to linksys, and your done. Works like a charm

Actually my linksys is connected to the home’s existing electrical wiring to connect everything together, using powerline adapters

I love those powerline things. I have a cheap optilink pair now and they work perfectly going from downstairs to upstairs.

Usually there's a default IP address like 192.168.1.1. You can google the default password for your router (change it right away).

However, you won't fix issues with Destiny. The servers just drop connections a lot. I have an open nat with my router and have port forwarding set up (I've worked in IT for 20+ years so I know what I'm doing) and I still get lots of disconnects in Destiny.

Same here and most likely its not your router because it the servers at bungie

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Ive been trying to figure out all this port, and Upnp stuff (which looks like my router doesn't support anyway) and it's confusing to me. Apparently linksys has an easy to use system, but I don't have that brand.

who is brad wardell ???

http://www.oxidegames.com/press/

He is the founder of oxide games
the maker of Nitrous engine
Some people beleive Mantle is very much an extension from Nitrous
He is certainly the one that said With DX12 X1 compute performance
could be more than 2 times, but retract that statement, after some people argued him.
then after that you see he is joking about NDA (are they)
and about eSRAM for compute task , it is shown @ MS latest developer day
but MS not discuss it or explain it how.
as computation task have to be done on register file or local scracth memory
unless eSRAM is not what we beleive it to be, that is why it is interesting.

But he is in the know, and have deep tech knowledge about
Mantle + DX12 for sure

Does it have a firewall you can disable ? If so disable it. I found with an old router and the 360 that I could not get full open NAT till I did that.

Nope, no firewall i can disable. This modem router actually offers very little options.

NAT should be Open, anything less you will have problems with multiplayer, Live and chat. Check if you router has Upnp and enable it, or set a static IP address for your xbox and manually configure port forward for these ports to your Xbox One IP address.

  • Port 88 (UDP)
  • Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
  • Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
  • Port 80 (TCP)
  • Port 500 (UDP)
  • UDP Port 3544 (UDP)
  • UDP Port 4500 (UDP)
If you don't know how to do this, let us know the make of your router and someone here could help.

I did all that. But i received and error when i tried opening port 80. It said it was already in use and thus it was made into 8080 or something. So i googled my modem router and with that error, turns out this modem router and/or provider does not allow port 80 to be opened....so basically....when it comes to that i am f***ed.

The modem router is a Davolink DV2020. Sadly there is no UPNP on it. I also have a Sitecom wireless modem router N300 X2, but no matter what i do...i can't get it to work. I'm gonna call my ISP tomorrow and ask if they can send me a modem router that has UPNP. I am stuck with this ISP until March 2015.

Someone here said if the NAT is strict or moderate..there will be many problems, but i must say i am impressed with how little problems i've had so far until recently.Even when it was strict i could join parties and talk to people.

Yeah the DMZ host was awesome on 360. It worked like a charm. I had given the 360 a IP of it's own and i put that IP in the DMZ host of the modem router. Sadly it didn't do anything for the Xbox One. I have not opened any other ports in my modem router, so that port 80 error is coming from something else. But it's not even something i can fix, with this crap ass modem router i cannot open port 80.

As for Linksys..i have the WRT54G, but it is only a router, not a modem router in one. I only have two modem routers here, but no normal modems unfortunetely. So the Linksys won't work.

Its strange you can't port forward port 80, have you checked if there is already a rule for this port? Here is a guide for your router

Yep he is in the know. What he knows though isn't the same stupid s*** you misterxmedia cultists believe you "know."

Still waiting for the hidden gpu in the powersupply and the stacked 10tflop gpu that no dev is using.

I'm seriously stuck on the fence between getting a PS4 or an X1. PS4 will have Bloodborne which I know I would buy day one. However X1 will have master chief collection and Halo 5.

If you want a pure and powerful gaming machine, get the four. If you want a near as powerful gaming machine and equally enjoyable next gen entertainment system all in one, get the One.

Get the X1 because of the HDMI pass through alone is far better, also XBOX LIVE is better so as the controller.

I could care less about the power of each machine. It's the games that I care about. What I'll likely do is buy both but several months apart. Hell Halo 5 doesn't even have a release date.

write down all games u want coming out in the next 2 years and see which console has the most exclusives and go with that.

I didn't see a relevant thread in which to ask. And it seems pointless to create a whole thread for.
Yeah feelings get hurt and those threads don't last anyway.

Some here own both... Maybe ask a few of them?

What kind of games do you like best?
Can you give me 10 recent games and I will give my opinion which you should buy based on your answer :)

Recent games:

Halo Reach
Grand Theft Auto 5
Super Mario 3d world
Battlefield 4
Mario Galaxy 2
Dark souls 2
Mario Kart 8
Beyond Good and Evil
Diablo 3
Divinity Original Sin

Recent games:

Halo Reach
Grand Theft Auto 5
Super Mario 3d world
Battlefield 4
Mario Galaxy 2
Dark souls 2
Mario Kart 8
Beyond Good and Evil
Diablo 3
Divinity Original Sin
Hmm 4 exclusives and none are PS.
6 are MP games.
You have Dark Souls 2 and Halo Reach mentioned... if you like Halo more then Dark Souls 2 then maybe you should get the XBO.. If Dark Souls 2 more than Halo then maybe PS4 for Bloodborne.

Choosing between Bloodborne and Halo is exactly the predicament I'm in.
Let me help you out- Halo>>> everything ;)

Seriously though, how are you going feel when everyone else is playing (and loving) Halo MCC in November...when is Bloodborne coming out again?

I do game on PC but not often enough to warrant the purchase of a new game. The last game I bought was Divinity Original Sin and I got to play only every other week and my interest in the game teetered off.

Console games are easier for me because my current dwelling doesn't have ideal space for pc gaming.

I'd absolutely love to buy an Xbox for MCC. The videos I've seen are sperm inducing. It's easier to think that X11 would be the better buy because I know I'll enjoy the s*** out of MCC and Halo 5.

Bloodborne looks amazing and it's got the the developer two of my favorite games and the master mind of the superior of those games.

Sounds like I'll just have to take the advice someone said and just look ahead a couple years for exclusives I want most and choose that way.
