Xbox One Developer Explains 1080P Difficulties

Do you know what is getting old, gamers living in the past and thinking it is relevant to the now. The old ways of huge losses on hardware are done.

That has nothing to do with it.

They spent ass loads of money to come up with a half ass soc design when that money could have been spent on much easier and more powerful solutions. I'd rather not continue to argue with a company sheep and apologist.

Nor do they need to take such a loss with cheap ass pc parts that still out perform what they spent ass loads of money on developing.

Uh yes it would. Your comparison to Xbox 360 is pretty pointless in 2013 so bringing it up just shows you really have no true understanding of the development process of hardware.

Ketto please stop pretending to be a tard.

I guess Microsoft really has no true understanding of the development process either considering they wasted tons of money and came out 100$ more expensive with a half ass machine.

You're going to call a mod a tard? Clearly you weren't the brighest crayon in the box in grade school. Though I actually like how you have the audacity to act like you know more about the silicon development process than MS to the point were you can say with confidence their design half-assed. I mean if you knew as much as you're pretending (horribly) to know then you'd realize your whines for a 780 and i7 were stupid when you considered thermal and power envelop for both of them. Not to mention die size and it's direct correlation to wafer costs for any company ordering in bulk. But I digress.

I'm going to pretty much stay the course and say that your posts speak volumes of your ignorance. And so far you really haven't presented any argument to have anyone of average intelligence think otherwise.

Names and labels, how original. Is ignorance truly bliss, Hissatsu ? Maybe you should apply for a job at MS since you know far more than they.

Ketto and Menace Microsoft apologists.

I definitely didn't say ketto was.

I just can't fathom all these excuses as to why these consoles are so crap. A 7790? that's whats in the xb1? yet a 780 or a 770 or something equivalent is just too much? really? yet steamboxes can do it just fine? sounds like a bunch of BS. Ketto you can pretend to be the smartest monkey on these forums all you want it still smells like BS. I don't care if you are a mod.

Nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade. Cause you know, some how it's too hard for Microsoft to put in a decent gpu and cpu in their box but other people can do it so easily.

Other people ? you mean Sony, right  cause there CPU and GPU are so cutting edge it boggles the mind.

A spade a Spade ? so anybody who doesn't agree with you is instantly a defender and apologist. Sorry for not being dumb enough to think a Titan would work well in a console.

No I don't mean sony, their setup is almost just as bad. Obviously........ And stop using The titan excuse, no one seriously expected a damn titan. I've said numerous times 760/770/780

Stop being so ignorant. The xbox 360 wasn't 1000 when it came out and it was just as good if not better than pc's at the time. Guess what? gpu's are cheaper than ever right now. This excuse is starting to get old real fast.

Keep making excuses for these companies though, I'm sure they love you for it.

Ignorance. Where? I see a valid point. There's no one making excuses for these companies. I personally find quite a bit of value in the One and every one of my gaming consoles over the 3 decades of pouring it in. Sure, it could have uber over the top power for visuals etc. But it does just fine in the sense the games are by no means ugly, there's fidelity and overall fun. Your argument is completely and utterly flawed. Microsoft was / is a software company, you're talking about taking PC components in bulk and shoving them into a box and pushing it on the consumer. No way in hell anyones buying a machine over $499. You'll see the steam machine numbers soon, it's going to fall ; and fall hard. The hardcore PC gamers, sure. Your average consumer, probably not.

And that's leaving the cost to the company completely in the dark. Not even mentioning thermal footprint.

Do you even understand how long the hardware specs for both new systems were in place? It's not something that just popped out of a cracker jack box. They did their research and their homework to provide for the services and environments they were offering. All the while being friendly to the consumer.

You can't be this blind. Not truly.

Oh so you mean steambox ? that is even worse. If all you want is a steam box go buy a PC. Also, a 780 is pretty much a Titan.

Nobody is saying the xbox one specs couldn't be better, but all you seem focused on is steambox. Steambox is not a console, it is a PC. It is no different than any other PC.

Steambox proves that more power can easily be fit inside of a console form factor. Which you have claimed on numerous times to be pretty much impossible lol.

Xb1 is not doing just fine when it can't even keep up with the half assed ps4 on top of costing more. The xb1 is not doing fine when it can't even run a 10 year old engine using game that is one of it's flagship titles at 1080p and 60 fps. when cheap ass pc components can do just that. I don't care wether or not steam machine fails that is not the point. The point is we definitely should have gotten better specs in these consoles and even more so from Microsoft.

"We should" has sounds of entitlement problems. Personally.

Save the visuals, is it not doing exactly the same things as the PS4 ? Yes. Add in it's also doing more in the background which plenty want to argue isn't important. It's the center of your living room if the Microsoft platform is your console of choice. There isn't anything media driven it won't run and sure, we sacrificed some visual muscle. Does that really matter when in the long run games will still look good ? No. Visuals were never a games strong suit, the playability and value of depth in the game we pony up good hardworking dollars for are. Some of the best games ever made weren't exactly top of the mil in terms of visual prowess.

Again, ke0 already stated it ; you have no idea behind the hardware process.

its like talking to a doorknob. Small form factor are only part of the issue and FYI steambox doesn't prove jack. Small form factor pc's have been around for decades.

Putting all that power on singl die's is going to be a bitch to cool. Then you have the cost of such power. You also have high power consumption. If you just throw a pc parts in to it then odds are developers will hit bottlenecks very quickly and will find it hard to full utilize all the power in the box. which then makes that power worthless.

Not to mention, a ton of great exclusives. Games, game play and fun is what the X1 is offering....oh plus a media powerhouse with multitasking untouched.

Please don't let me stop you from being happy with your half assed machine that can't even run Titanfall at 1080p 60 fps but can snap in IE which is so amazing I wonder why cheap pc's can't do the same thing.

It's like arguing with Akamiro all over again.

Putting all that power on singl die's is going to be a b**** to cool. Then you have the cost of such power. You also have high power consumption. If you just throw a pc parts in to it then odds are developers will hit bottlenecks very quickly and will find it hard to full utilize all the power in the box. which then makes that power worthless.

Yea cause heatsinks are so amazing and unheard of. You just have to use single die solution too!

You might as well stop wasting your time because I am not going to agree with this BS. Better specs would not have been as hard to accomplish as you and the other goons in this thread would have me believe.

I'm not buying the BS you guys are selling.

I'm not asking you to agree, and again, nobody is saying better specs are or weren't possible. All you're doing is playing ignorant in the face of several people telling you a different opinion. You aren't discussing. you aren't arguing. You're just being ignorant.

That's pretty much exactly what you keep trying to say. I think you are being ignorant. Either it's possible to have power equal to a 760/770/780 or it's not. You have clearly been arguing that it's not possible for 1 reason or another. Make up your mind.

No one is saying it isn't possible. People are saying with Microsoft shifting their SDK and tools to whatever they did, they created a harder job on the developers. For whatever reason. All after deciding the lesser GPU was good enough for their needs.

What you fail to realize is, your problem of pricing of PC components and trying to generalize that to consoles DOES NOT WORK. Sure, they could have upper the GPU, but at what cost to the consumer? Because such a drastic change could have upped their R&D and completely destroyed their timeline to launch.
