A console price drop Plus free TitanFall!

via Eurogamer

Microsoft has announced the first Xbox One price cut.

From 28th February Xbox One will carry an estimated retail price of £399.99 in the UK. It currently costs £429.99.

Coinciding with the announcement, Microsoft has confirmed the Xbox One Titanfall bundle that leaked online earlier this morning. This Titanfall bundle includes an Xbox One console, the Kinect sensor, a standard Xbox One wireless controller, a standard Xbox One Chat Headset, one month of Xbox Live Gold membership and a digital copy of Titanfall for the same price of £399.99. You can pre-order the bundle from today.

seeing as i got mine for £430 at launch with FIFA(free, a game i was gonna get anyway), the early adoption only cost me £30 so i am fine with not getting any compensation

but if people didnt want FIFA or Forza then i dont know how they feel.

They better not skimp on us NA folk. We're the bread and butter!

All signs point to an upcoming price drop or bundle in NA too. The thing isn't selling well at its current price point. At this moment Walmart, Target, Fry's and Costco are all selling the Xbox one below retail or throwing in a $50 gift card or a free game when you buy one nationwide.

The bundle is available in the US, no price cut though.

The quickest price cut still belongs to MS. 1 month after the original Xbox launched in Australia they had a $250 price cut. The OG Xbox also had a similarly speedy pricedrop in the UK.

This should have been the launch price to begin with, I hope they drop the US price too. £399/$449 is a fair price to compete with Sony.

Be interesting to see how much of an impact it has on Xbox One's sales. I think the problem is I know plenty of Xbox gamers who just aren't interested in gaming any more.

Well.. I guess I was wrong about not getting a price drop in the first year.

The X1 is over 4 million units sold. So how is that not selling well? People seem to forget that since the PS4 is doing so well. But they need to remember that the X1 is breaking all the same records the PS4 has with respect to previous console launches. Its true, the PS4 is selling better but the X1 is selling really well too.

They should also do a price cut in Euro zone, given that next batch of PS4 will not arrive until god knows when. It will be good for people on the fence, or tired of waiting for PS4.

People are associating xbox availability as proof of failure. It's kind of cute in a way.

Maybe back in November/December it was selling well, but the latest January NPD numbers were terrible, selling over 100K less units than 360 did its first January and barely tying the original Xbox's first January sales which were terrible.

No they are probably just looking at January NPD, the early price drop and the discounts at four major retailers. Failing is a strong word no one used.

How does that even make sense? It sold more than double the 360 sold in November/December. Whereas the 360 supplies were constrained, the Xbox One supplies were more readily available. So a vast majority got their systems in Nov/Dec. The PS4 on the other hand had shortages in Dec which were fulfilled in Jan. You will have to wait for normalisation before objectively looking at sales.

This goes for the whole forum, if someone is a troll, according to you, simply put them on ignore. The ignore feature here is wonderful. The more you ignore a troll the less they are prone to post and troll and will eventually go away.

The only thing unfortunate about this move is we find out that yo was only talking about the main Xbox one thread when he promised never to post again.

One month of seemingly bad sales does not equate panic price drop.

I agree. But two months might and I assume MS has some idea by now of their February numbers. And panic is a strong word. Either way you certainly don't drop the price of something that is selling like hotcakes.

They're not dropping it in the States. It's in the UK only as of right now.

Yeah post to your heart's content in there, it's the least I can do. The last page of the thread is all about Sony fans, resolutions and frame rate comparisons and the PS4, and not a single PS4 fan is in there so at least you guys can stop blaming "trolls" all of the time. I think the word troll to some people in here means someone who doesn't praise Xbox one. Whatever floats your guys boat in there. How about this, I'll leave this thread too permanently and you guys can talk about how well the Xbox one is selling lately...

I personally think they are doing this to add to the Titanfall push..... they want to get the ball rolling.
