Xbox One gets official price cut PLUS free Titanfall!

I'm not mad, I just think it makes no sense. 3 games, hoodeehoo.
Maybe you suffer from memory loss...

How does it make no sense? I'm having a blast with the games out now and I'll still be playing them up until TF releases. Its not 3 games, its 4, and they are all completely different, that's the point. Diversity. I'm a huge KI and Forza fan, DR3 is crazy fun, and Ryse was the surprise of the last couple of years.
Sorry my memory is fine. No one said halo wasn't a great game, I just have more hours with this launch than anything in years, get over it. i can't help you can't say the same :(

Is halo bolded cause it is the compelling title to buy an xbox ? cause all it compels me to do is sleep. Ruh Roh, two differing opinions...The world is going to end.

Just looking at the xbox one launch titles. I have to agree with de3d1. Xbox one launch>> Xbox.

I don't think it's a leap of logic for someone to be enjoying the X1 launch the way de3d1 is.

  • Ryse
  • Forza 5
  • Dead Rising 3
  • LocoCycle
  • Powerstar Golf
  • Killer Instinct
  • Crimson Dragon
  • ACIV
  • Skylanders Swap Force
  • Zoo Tycoon
  • Battlefield 4
  • NBA 2k14
  • Angry Birds Star Wars
  • Just Dance 2014
  • LEGO Marvel Superheros
  • Fighter Within
  • Madden 25
  • FIFA 14
  • Need for Speed Rivals
  • CoD: Ghosts
  • Zumba Fitness: World Party
  • NBA Live 14
It's a comparable list to the original xbox that features some genres that weren't available on it at the time like an open world adventure game or an action/RPG like Skylanders, even though it's labeled as a platformer in some places. Some games were better reviewed than others, and obviously value/quality is always gonna be in the eye of the beholder. Still though, that's fair amount of variety out of the gate. Not to mention none of these games are exclusive to one single country at launch.

What I want to know is why they thought two NASCAR games were necessary.
This was back in the day when leagues would give their IP to multiple devs/pubs. Wasn't uncommon to get multiple games of the same sports league like NBA, NFL, MLB, etc. Something that's sadly been dying out in a genre badly needing competition. Unfortunately, unless you have that league brand, most people won't give your game the time of day.

My question is what do MS have after Titanfall? They're pinning an awful lot of hype and hope on Titanfall. Sony have Infamous, MLB: The Show and hopefully driveclub in the next few months but MS? Seems like they'll be quiet until E3.

I dunno what they have on the table in regards to releases, I haven't really looked; but I do know I'd rather have Titanfall than those three games though.

games are even more expensive

in america there was no game price increase (x360 was $60, x1 is $60)

in UK the games used to cost £40 on x360 now on x1 they cost £50-55. its kinda ridiculous

While games are always more expensive overseas, especially in aus/nz, you also have to factor in NA prices don't include taxes whereas most overseas prices include them already. Games are $60 here and I pay 12% tax on that so $67.20. Still less, but it's just always a bit misleading when people quote NA prices without taxes.

I'd take Infamous alone over Titanfall. Always been more of a story-driven type of player.

well my point wasnt really how much it costs.. it was about how US had no game price increase but we have

the actual numbers dont really matter in my point

E3 will hold the answer to that, but we do know we'll be getting an X1 Halo game at the end of the year. Plus, they have all those games in development. Don't know if stuff like Sunset Overdrive or Quantum Break will be available in 2014, but it's not exactly ruled out either. There might also be a new Forza Horizon in the works as well.

Sunset Overdrive is coming out 2014 but I'm weary about it as we've not seen anything yet. Quantem break we have done and is a good shout for 2014.

1 exclusive in just the first half of the year seems a bit weak though, don't you think? Unless I am forgetting another exclusive..

I don't really feel too much about Sunset Overdrive besides the cool visual presentation in the trailer. Other than that, I can't feel weary or anything about something I haven't really seen yet. That's a game likely to be shown at E3. As for your other comment, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is out right now and Kinect Sports Rivals is set to release soon. I think D4 should be coming out this year as well. Other than that, you got stuff like Wolfenstein: NWO, Sniper Elite 3, Evil Withing, and Destiny set for a release. Not to mention the Elder Scrolls MMO. I'd say that's a fair amount of content through out the year for any hardcore gamer.

I don't see how TF isn't like COD though? what is the difference in feel, overall map design, yeah you have the jumping and mechs and whatever, but if there was a COD 2099.. would it not feel like TF?

SURE, you can argue the differences, but the overall feeling is just COD to me. I don't want anyone to argue for the sake of arguing, I mean there is a lot of differences in feel and design in MAG for example compared to COD that really makes it not feel like COD. I'd even go as far to say Halo 4 is 50/50 cod/halo. TF is 70/30 COD perhaps and 100 percent in a lot of ways. There is a lot of weighing you can do but at the end of the day, no one should be surpirsed when people that don't like COD don't like TF, it's the same overall concept, same developer after all. WIthout a SP, TF is pretty much a ho hum release for me sadly. When TF2 comes out there may be little reason to get the first TF other than collector merrit for me.

Really hope TF2 can get a single player component

The gun mechanics feel the same. It's like COD on steroids with the ability to jump into windows and run on walls with some mech thrown in.

so..nothing like COD

Not nothing. The gun mechanics feel the same, which is basically what you'll be doing most of the time (shooting at people), but the other stuff thrown in are different. Like Mech and jumppack ability.

Seems exactly the same as COD to me, with jumping and a mech mechanic throw in. I assume that is what he was saying anyways.... not sure if one or both of you are joking, but it's pretty obvious it's cod 2099 :)

gun play is same how... only in that it has low recoil? cause i dont remember needing to shoot people off walls or running from roof to roof or top of buildings or top of titans in COD

literally the only similar thing is the low recoil but that doesnt mean the gunplay is the same..

the engagements you get into in this game are NOWHERE NEAR like COD 90% of the time so how is the gunplay same?

I've only seen gameplay vids and the shoot mechanics seem to be the only things this game shares. The parkour in the game really changes it up. It's just a much different scale and approach. Same goes for the mechs and how they can be used. You're not just using a mech, you can use it to defend spots, follow you where ever you go, and the videos alone show a feeling of power that I never felt playing CoD. Ripping another guy out of a mech and crushing him with those robot hands just looks so damn good. You also have to remember the scale of jumping, you aren't just bouncing off of walls into windows, you can go across rooftops and be on the tallest point of the map to the lowest in small amount of time. CoD has had the opptortunity to introduce stuff like this for years now, especially with Black Ops II. The game just feels so much more different to me every time I see it. Not to mention the maps have more ambition to them than CoD in my opinion. I just hear so many good things about the design of these maps and I'm excited to play them when the time comes. As for TF2 and whether or not it's worth it to get the original, it depends, but I often like being able to play a MP game as originally intended and sequels can have a tendency to change up a game for better or worse. It's cool to play each and every Halo MP because each one is more different than the other.

Is this statement you're making of "1 exclusive" for Q1 even true? I haven't looked, but I'd guess it's not.

Price drop + TF promo? Good time to get in! Although that copy of TF is digital so you can't sell/trade it in.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare now
Kinect Sports Rivals soon
Halo game at the end of the year
D4 should be coming out this year, especially since it's episodic

The gun mechanics, as in the way you shoot your gun and how it feels when you shoot it, are pretty much like COD. Gameplay, on the other hand, is different because now you can run on walls, jump up into windows and partner up with your Titan to wreak havoc.

The way you shoot your gun is by pulling the right trigger, is that what you mean by it feeling like COD?

I agree. The Gunplay is very similar to COD, but everything else separates it from COD.

I think it's similar to Barbie Horse Adventure. They're both video games and that you can move around in them. I can't believe no one has noticed this before!!

But in Barbie's Horse adventure you move around on a horse, and not a death dealing, robotic, nightmare straight from the depths of awesomeness. So, very different all things considered :D
