Horizon already looks amazing on the standard PS4 though. I have both systems in my house.

I'm not saying that it's not even better on Pro. Of course it is.

But I'll tell you what. Let's just drop it before Boss gets pissed.

I'm not trying to troll PS4 Pro. Just that Microsoft was more in need of a update.

It's a testiment to Sony and the fact that they nailed the PS4 design. Where as Microsoft kind of undercooked the X1 because of Kinect and were in more desperate need for an upgrade.

It isn't. That is how YOU feel. Keep note everybody this is a far cry from saying 'hey the PS4 PRO sucks guys!'

Infact it sounds like Dno69 likes the system.

This is his opinion. Either way any responses to the post above should be weighed before replying and potentially derailing the thread. Getting grossly off topic and or intentional trolling won't be tolerated.

Not sure what the actual conversation is right now but i'll just add i don't like when people don't give credit when it's due. Microsoft has done a ton to correct their mistakes this gen and give the fans what they want. Not giving them credit for listening and delivering on features and the most powerful console just because they messed up early this gen is lame. Give them their due. If there's one thing i love about Microsoft it's that they are very active in the community and are open to feedback and improving the experience.

There is no device on the market that does Freesync and HDR over HDMI 2.1, is there?

If Microsoft is counting on TV manufacturers to make this happen, it's actually a big bet.

DF said no...but this console will be on the market for 8 years...plenty of time for things to change.

Yea . people like myself that game on gaming monitors will be able to take advantage of this . Hopefully tv manufactures will start to implement this .

It's safe to assume they have reasonable inside info. At worst, this will impact pc monitor users shorter term. This is also a great sign for Xbox brand overall. It's thinking big picture and hardcore gamer. Starting to believe there will be a game lineup that backs up this back to basics thinking they used to have.
 
I know they said holiday 2017 but what are the chances they release it before october ?
Would be nice in line with the heavy hitters like Destiny 2 but mostly Red Dead Redemption 2.

Maybe for this year so far sure. But there are better looking games from years before this on Xbox and PlayStation.

I was hoping it would be a similar release date as the Xbox one S . Wishful thinking on my part .

anyone here rumours of KOTOR remaster? If that was exclusive MS would win E3.

How is what I said s***ting on them? I defended them for Christ sake, they made the 100% correct decision with the cpu for this console. Sorry if not being a cheerleader with unrealistic expectations fails some loyalty test you think people have to pass but that's your issue not mine.

There were also X1 games that ran at more stable framerates as well, keeping a more stable 30fps is a lot different than doubling the framerate and you won't get that with a 200mhz difference. Yon don't see games going from 30 to 60 on PS4 to the Pro and there is a 500mhz difference between those two CPU's.

PS4 Pro is a bump up from PS4, but I feel the same too.

PS4 Pro is a system that came out 3 years after PS4, yet it's only real difference is a bump in visuals and 4k streaming. Same controller, bigger footprint, heavier.

On the other hand, MS' 3 year upgrade was an X1 redesign: X1 S added a 4k drive, smaller form factor, internal brick, better controller, IR blaster, slightly improves game visuals (by far not to the extend of PS4 Pro... more like improved and stable frame rates), and probably some more tweaks.

Scorpio (which is a real upgrade over X1 S) bumps up specs leading to better visuals, but also adds a ton of new features, a 4k drive etc....

PS4 Pro is a car maker's model in year 4 of 5. If you compare the year 4 car to the launch model, year 4's car improves on everything from year 1, but it's still kind of the same car. You get a better engine, but everything else isn't that much different.

X1 S is like year 2 of a 5 year car platform. Year 2 tweaks a bunch of aesthetics, but the performance and engine are basically the same as last year.

Scorpio is a car maker's relaunch of a brand. Everything is new.... looks, interiors, engine, features.

I don't buy that its happening. I've seen it all over and I refuse to believe it.
That series is too important to me to do hope. I won't be burned again.

Theres certainly star wars games coming of course, but I'm filing this one as "not happening" for my own protection.

Haven't MS and Samsung had a pretty chummy relationship? Maybe something is on the horizon.
 
No more PS Pro comparisons please. There's hardly a Scorpio thread on the internet that isn't a ish show due to system wars. Can't we be excited about new toys without all the bull? I think the only relevant platform to compare the Scorpio to is the PC and that's to gauge potential performance.

Good to see the confusion cleared up with HDMI 2.1.

On that first day of DF info, some sites were saying HDMI 2.0 and some were saying 2.1.

I think it's likely we huge performance increases if devs taper down to 1800p in scorpio, maybe not double.

Battlefront I think is a given. EAs shooters have gotten a little better each year on Xbox One and they use DX12 now. Battlefront 2 will probably be the showpiece tech demo we're all looking for.

You'd think so but that gain would be for GPU not CPU, the CPU will still be limiting on the Scorpio but just not by as much. The GPU is really strong and it will be doing a lot of work I'm sure so anything that's a load on the GPU will look better on Scorpio than anywhere else but the CPU stuff will still be a bottleneck but again it'll be to a lesser degree than on the Pro. Honestly I don't mind that, sure being able to get 60 fps more often sounds great but there have been a ton of amazing console gaming experiences over the years that were 30 fps, hell the vast majority of them have been.

The trailer for the game makes it look like Sony has the marketing rights to it so don't count on it being shown at any big MS events, it'll undoubtedly look the best on Scorpio though.
