Yes! Not to mention, the wife and I are going to move and the new place will be too small for him . We are probably going to finally leave Wisconsin (born and raised here) and move to the Carolinas. We are talking about taking a year off and traveling abroad.Once March hits you know what to do
Hell yeah! That's awesome man congrats. What part of the Carolinas?Yes! Not to mention, the wife and I are going to move and the new place will be too small for him . Just got back from spending time in the Outer Banks, but looking more inland near there. Also wouldn't mind the Virginia Beach area of Virginia.Hell yeah! That's awesome man congrats. What part of the Carolinas?
Noice. Yeah I'm from Hampton Roads (Yorktown originally) and love OBX. If you're gonna do VA Beach live as close to the water as you can. It's traffic hell, but at least it's more walkable than being stuck in some neighborhood that sucks.Just got back from spending time in the Outer Banks, but looking more inland near there. I loved OBX, but man, the houses on the beach take a MASSIVE beating from wind, rain, salt and sand. I couldn't handle it. But maybe on the other side of the bridge (before you cross over). We flew into Norfolk and drove down, and I loved seeing all the naval activity. A couple we met said that VA Beach is a great area and also mentioned the traffic. Our goal is to be on water (doesn't have to be on the ocean water), and VERY VERY SAFE.Noice. Yeah I'm from Hampton Roads (Yorktown originally) and love OBX. Just buy a house in Duck or Corolla and never look back though. That's my favorite spot to vacation.
There's a lot to look for in places like that in VA Beach, and even on the other side of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel up in like Yorktown, Poquoson, or Williamsburg on the Chesapeake Bay. "North Hampton Roads" as we call it overall a much safer area than Norfolk or VA Beach. Just don't live in a bad part of Hampton or Newport News lol!I loved OBX, but man, the houses on the beach take a MASSIVE beating from wind, rain, salt and sand. I couldn't handle it. Water and a safe place is priority for us. I won't say price is no object, but if we have to pay more to be in a safer area, we are for it. So if we are on a bay or lake and not ocean, that's great too. There's a lot to look for in places like that in VA Beach, and even on the other side of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel up in like Yorktown, Poquoson, or Williamsburg on the Chesapeake Bay. I will say you probably don't wanna live near the bridge that feeds into the actual OBX. Not really a great safe area, though I'm sure you could get a lot of land for a decent price.
I live up in Richmond, which is about an hourish NW-ish of Yorktown, about 2ish from VA Beach / Norfolk. Moved up here in 2009 to go to school and just never left lol. I love it here as it's the perfect mix of city / town, and there's tons to do.Water and a safe place is priority for us. If you are not in Yorktown now, where are you?
We might get a boat as well, so that isn't out of the question. I am going to look up Poquoson now.I live up in Richmond, which is about an hourish NW-ish of Yorktown, about 2ish from VA Beach / Norfolk. Poquoson might be a highlight for you, it's a super super safe small town right on the Bay. It's faster to travel by boat to half the city than it is to drive lol. That's where I originally grew up before my parents split and I moved to Yorktown.
Ah, so the place looks GREAT, but it looks to be flood happy!I live up in Richmond, which is about an hourish NW-ish of Yorktown, about 2ish from VA Beach / Norfolk. Well that's the thing with this whole area, especially if you wanna live on or near the water. Flooding is a part of it sadly. I think if you're within a certain range you're obligated to get flood insurance.Ah, so the place looks GREAT, but it looks to be flood happy!
Mine still says Pending too. I don't think they ever charged me anything though.Yeah, MS still "Pending". Was charged $1 a few weeks back.
Mine will get here sometime around 7:55 pm. I'll move the 1X to the bedroom and hook up the SX and the new 5TB external and then probably play something.I'm sure mine will be loaded on a UPS truck in the morning and driven around within a mile of my house for 12+ hours and finally delivered after dinner. No idea why UPS does this with every package I get. Not complaining though, if I get it on launch day at all I'll be happy.
