Black Panther Movie

Critics: "Hollywood is oversaturated with comic book movies!"
Also Critics: "Black Panther is the greatest movie ever made!"

I for one love comic book movies. Marvel, DC - I've enjoyed most of the modern ones (the only ones I didn't like were Thor 2 and Suicide Squad). I'm sure BP won't be an exception.

A Marvel super hero movie ending in the 90's only makes sense if you're cogniscent of the fact that you're living in a bizaare universe where people can stomach watching the same formulaic action movies year after year after year.

Creed and Fruitvale Station were really good.
 
Highly politicized, or the greatest comic book movie of all time? We'll see. I think it looks interesting.

I'm not a comic fan or a superhero movie fan in general. But I like what I've seen in the trailers.

As opposed to what exactly?

The vast majority of movies follow that trend within in their genres. Or you have movies that make no sense, like Mother.
 
The non Disney approved reviews will come out soon. Thor sat at 100% for a while.
 
I hope it's even half as good as the hype, Wonder Woman was fine but it wasn't some life altering masterpiece like so many made it out to be. So much of this stuff just seems like people trying to score social points vs being honest.

Yep.

I don't follow the hype. To me the movie looks very good. Black Panther was the best thing about Civil War. Those two things are why I am looking forward to seeing it.

Just annoying now that all the press attention is that most of the cast is black to the point it feels that's why it's getting praise rather than being good.

Its stupid to ignore other black superheroes/heroes but its also stupid to think that is why its praised. There are a lot of movies with a black cast that don't get praised.

But it shows how s***ty Hollywood is that a movie like this in 2018 could be considered groundbreaking for those reasons

Yeah I'm just saying it's starting to come off like that. Too many mentions of black cast. Just say a good film with a talented cast from top to bottom. Shouldn't matter what colour skin they have.
 
Was fine with the ending apart from the fact I knew who Ares really was going into the movie and they should have saved him for a later film.

Tbh, I thought WW sucked. If that was hyped up as something great, then wow.

I thought it was fine but nothing special, if you go by social media it was the first strong female character ever in a movie and she inspired the world lol. I guess those people have never seen one of the many other strong women in movies and tv over the last few decades. One area that the movie really fell flat was in the special effects, especially in the first half. The CGI was really weak in many parts of it which seems to be a theme with DC movies so far and that really needs to be addressed in future films. Gal Gadot is a beautiful woman but she's not an amazing actress, she doesn't convey emotion very well, she's not awful but I have a hard time believing that they couldn't have found someone with more range. At the end of the day it was wasn't as good as many said just as BvS wasn't as bad as others said, they were both decent but could have been much better.

If they had changed "You are letting him kill Martha to He's going to kill my mother" it could have had the same impact and not sounded anywhere near as stupid and a lot of people would have come away with less anger lol. Also they could have done something more than copy the cave troll from LOTR for Doomsday, oh and yeah get a totally different actor to play Lex. Other than that I think it was fine :)
