It is the least they can do for asking you to pay 60 bucks to beta test what should have been a finished product. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

To be fair, consumers should be smarter and not pre-order games. Wait a day or two and see or just expect issues. Not to defend any company, but serious release issues are pretty common these days.

I usually wait until Wednesday to buy games. Avoids a lot of headaches (plus you get user opinions on the games too).

This. Especially with DD, I don't have to leave the house to get a game. I didn't wait with MC because I was focused more on Campaign then anything.

I'm going to start adding people, so if you see me online AND in Halo, feel free to throw an invite for customs or party match making. I'm awful though, or at least all these of playing bad FPS's have lowered my skills a great deal.

Baby sleeping here at the moment, so no mic.

My GT is chitownc18, add me please.

I'm really starting to regret buying this game though:
-There's no Halo 1 only playlist- which is the reason I bought this
-BTB playlist doesn't work
-The overall playlist selection sucks
-Team killing is out of control since people can't get booted - I've had a tk'er ruin all of my games.

If these problems hold up, I feel the player count is going to drop drastically and that they will never have enough people to have a decent variety of playlists.

343 and MS f***ed up royally by not including a public server browser in this game. There's just too many maps, game styles, and game types out there for a matchmaking system to ever satisfy. The game would have been 100x better if they did this.

Maybe a website will pop up for this game like Destiny lfg/lfm did. But the community shouldn't have to fix these issues. The developers and publishers need to get their heads out of their butts and get out in front of these issues before the game is released not after. Any idiot could have realized that Halo: MCC should have a public server browser or that Destiny should have had matchmaking for raids/Heroic strikes/heroic story.

I really want to play some Halo CE custom games or Halo 2 Classic custom games (leaning more toward Halo CE) if you're down for those, Please add me: twevo7

Agreed, having a server browser would have totally mitigated the match making issues right now.

Yep I mean I understand the merits of a matchmaking system. On the other hand though, it allows for no customization, which is key for a game like this.

I really don't understand why developers have completely given up on server browsers, and instead didn't use them in conjunction with matchmaking. This game would have been the perfect game for this.

I have wanted a custom game browser in Halo for years but at the very least this game really needed a Halo 3 style veto system. 1/3 of the games I have played have been on Lockout and as for objective games? Good luck finding those.

And right after I post this I manage to find a game and surprise surprise its on Lockout.

Yep, there was so much potential with this game. It went from one of my most anticipated to probably my biggest disappointment this year. There's just no excuse for not having a server browser and in the very least, a more customizable matchmaking system. I'm dumbfounded right now. I'm not getting anything close to what I thought I was paying for.

It's sad how they spent so much time bringing all the old multiplayer games and maps back only so we can't play them.

When they bring the Halo: CE playlist back, they are dropping it down to 2v2, which is a joke. And the BTB playlist (which doesn't even work) has 40+ maps in the hopper, which is ridiculous- matchmaking was never meant for such a wide spread in a single playlist.

Flynn - Is there any hope for a server browser in Halo:MCC, or should I just give up on the game and return it now?

They might have a point on this one as some of the maps just can't support 4v4 or at least can't with the respawn system that is in place. You will often spawn and immediately get shot or blown up. Problem is the game does have good 4v4 and 8v8 experiences but they very rarely come up.

I am not sure what they could do about BTB having so many maps. There has to be some home for these maps.

Public Server Browser. When you have that many maps in a playlist it should raise a red flag that matchmaking may not be the best solution.

And the only Halo 1 playlist being 2v2 is a joke. I played plenty of 4v4 system link with no issues in the past.

5v5 is terrible. Especially for most of the Halo maps. It kills a lot of maps, I don't know why they didn't leave it as 4v4, that's enough for team games.

It could be an issue with them porting the PC version which clearly isn't the greatest

I think they are supposed to be 4v4 based on the fact the max party size is 4 and they originally announced them at 4v4 except for Halo 4.

Yeah I tried this morning MM, no luck after 15-20 waiting. It's a shame too with all the work they've put in. I know it'll eventually work, but man this should have been ready to begin with.

Agreed. This kind of thing is definitely difficult to test, but you think they'd be experienced enough with it by now.

That's the thing though; don't ever wait that long. If you wait longer than 5 minutes, you should back out and restart. They have said the highest success rates happen from 14 seconds to 4 minutes. Also, that search bug I mentioned can lead you to a complete dead end, so be sure to avoid that.

If the Wednesday patch doesn't fix the game then this thing might get traded for COD.

yea i meant total time, like 10 searches or so

Probably depends on what you consider to be fixed. I imagine it will fix many of the matchmaking problems but the game has other issues.

I was looking at the leaderboards (which are SP only) and all the people in first place all completed the mission in zero seconds? What the hell is that about? Also the lack of daily, weekly, and monthly challenges is a huge disappoint to me! That added so much replayability to Reach! And where are all my playlists? Even before they gutted them, every game needs to have at least 6 right? How about my ordnance drops in H4? 343 are fvcking retards. They're ruining the series!

Even if it was working I don't think it could really support that many playlists.

Good question about Halo 4 though. I only played it once but I did notice there was no ordinance drops and I wasn't able to select a custom class either. I just figured it was some special mode.

Well I got an update and it didn't do ****! The only games I can get into are Halo 3, but I want to play Halo 4! They removed the only Halo 4 playlist and now the only way to play Halo 4 is in BTB? WTF were they thinking! I understand the game is broken, but that doesn't mean they have to strip the playlists! Who's running the show over there? Some stupid chick named Kiki?? Hey Kiki you have the worst name I've ever heard! Quit your job and let someone else take over!

Well, one can argue that COD works a little better...

That skill based match making is the reason the lobbies are full of try hard sweaty douchebags and insane lag.

While I don't disagee about waiting and the benefits of that, I can't recall any game having the issues that some of these most recent releases are having. AC unity is a glitchy mess, The MCC should have never been released in the state it is in and Driveclub has been almost non-playable for some and the free PS+ version(promised over a year ago) is delayed indefinitely. I don't like the precedent set here and don't remember past releases EVER relasing in the state that these games are. It needs to stop.
