Ori and the Blind Forest

I finished my 2nd playthrough at 100% in just over 5 hours. Now I only have two achievements left: beat it in less.than 3 hours, and do it without upgrading abilities. Oh man!
So you beat it without dying????

I just got through the forlorn ruins. My Achilles heel of platformers is upside down controls. I never can wrap my brain around it. Luckily there is no lives count, so though I died alot there was very little stress. I wish Nintendo would drop lives in games. It is so archaic, this and Rayman definitely show that you don't have to have limited lives to make a platformer fun.

Yes, but not in the way you think. Iterative saving my friend.

You can cheese it. Just pause and quit to menu right when you die, then reload from last save. No one is doing that for real.

This, to an extent. You actually can't just quit to the menu and reload your save; it won't work. The game registers the death/respawn immediately to your active save slot as you play, so once you die that slot is "corrupted" if you will. So, reloading the save won't do you any good, your death will still be there. The only way to do it once you die is to quit to the menu and overwrite your active save slot with a copy of your progress from another slot. This is the method I used. On my first playthrough, I identified key "problem areas" of mine and on my second playthrough made copies of the saves in those areas before progressing further. It did save me four times, but overall I actually played quite well.

For anyone who doesn't know, this game is also published and released for Steam on PC. So get the game while it's hot!

Does anyone know what causes the water bug?

I'm gonna restart the game. But I want to avoid getting stuck in the middle of the game again.

I honestly never thought i'd like a 2D platformer this much, when i saw all the praise in the incredibly positive reviews, i didnt really know what to think, but i can wholeheartedly agree with them. I get the praise.

I am trying to get out of the Ginsu Tree and this part is seriously messing with me and yes...i cuss and get angry when i keep dying, but i still love it. I just know that i will eventually finish this part and the drive to actually press on and get through that is big, so it will be ok. I f***ing love the music there too. There really so far is very little that i do not like in the game.

Beautiful.

Well, I'm at 7+ hours and only 24% completion and I've got 13 abilities enabled in the ability tree. No Bash or Double Jump as of yet.

I've got 2/12 life cells and 3/15 energy cells.
Only 3 skills so far and those I got within the first hour or so.

Think I'll have to give up until trueachievements have finished there walkthrough as I'm sure I've missed something or I've hit a bug that won't allow me to progress.

Watching the credits roll right now. Masterpiece. One of my favorite games of all time. I love platformers, I love beautiful art styles, I love "Metroidvania" styles, the music, the difficulty. Seriously it's as close to perfect as it can get for me.

7+ hours!? You should have both of those long before now? Where are you?

Got myself up that dam tree! It actually wasn't anywhere near as hard as I thought it would be. Died a few times on the water rising, but it was definitely under 10 times. My first time I got so close to the end, thought I was going to do it first time.

I keep messing up when you can only jump towards the spider, but i don't reach him in time so i can use that ability and shoot upwards. Or i mess up because i'm like ''Damn....this cannot be much longer now, can it?'' i get too eager...resulting in my death, lol.

Not familiar with it. Where does it occur?

I'm terrible with remembering names. But it's in the second area where you can swim. The one with the blue birds that swoop down.

Once you get in the water, you can't get out.

But I restarted and I'm already passed the point where I originally got the bug.

I think it seems hard because I swear the Xbox One Y button doesn't always seem to register your input.

Let me add my name to the list of those who beat it today. What a beautiful game. If this quality was the norm for Indie games I would rethink my general attitude towards them. This game would easily been worth the price of a full retail game. It was a steal at the price I paid!

Mine seems to be ok, I just time it wrong some times. Worst part for me was I just was getting so close and barely missing that my heart was pounding by the time I beat it. Thought I was going to have to take a break

You don't have double junp? You must of missed an area. Have you done the part where you chase the long legged critter for the blue orb?

Sunken Glades 78%.
Valley of Wind 15%
Hollow Grove 48%
Thornfleet Swamp 34%

Just going back and fourth around the parts of the map I can reach.

From where you see him, follow to the right and then down and back over to the left. He's behind a wall that looks to be destroyable or atleast should open. Can't follow any further.

Ahh i see

You have to make those purple arms spit those things that explode on top of those purple glowing logs and keep going down and left until the last one shoots one at the wall.

So yesterday night i decided to call it quits, and now..a new day. Finished this part in like 3 or 4 tries. It honestly isn't all that challenging, well it is, but it really is not impossible. The part where i kept messing up with the spider, i just had to use his 'bullet' to use the ability and from there things went sweeeeeet.

Love....this game!!!!

Yeah, not sure how far in you are, but the difficulty is definitely reasonable so far. It's hard, but if you think about what you're doing and how to do it, everything case be easily done with a few tries.

Just got out of the Ginsu Tree :)

229 deaths, 8 hours on the clock and 41% completed.

By the way, is there a site to check out what the sales for games are? I'd like to see if Ori is doing well, i hope it is..it SO deserves it.

I've sold 3 people on it so far lol. If I got paid for music, game, and vape reccomendations, I could sit around and play Ori all day.

I just got the Sun stone. I am stopping a lot just because I don't want it to end :(
