Xbox One X

I wonder how large the install would be for Quantum Break if it gets a full 4K facelift for both the game and the TV shows.

I thought I shouldn't mention your other wishes...

There's only so many times I can talk about fisting in a day, and I'm really not a fan of Steven Seagal.

WHAT?!? Not a fan of Seagal..?

....how about now?

I'm not trying to make this a vs. thread...I just thought the comments were interesting, especially since this was originally supposed to be a PS exclusive.

LawBreakers Dev: ‘We Are Maxing Out’ The PS4 Pro And PS4, Xbox One X Is ‘Awesome’

Boss Key Productions are maxing out the PS4 Pro.

Boss Key Productions lead designer Dan Nanni, who’s busy working on the studio’s multiplayer shooter LawBreakers, has talked about why the game is coming to PS4 first over Xbox One. He revealed further information about the PS4 Pro version to GamingBolt. It’s already known that the game is running at 4K and 60fps on the PS4 Pro but he stated that they are maxing out the hardware’s capabilities.

“PlayStation 4 Pro is 60 frames per second. PlayStation 4 base is 60 frames per second. We are maxing it out. We are 4K on PlayStation 4 at 60 frames per second. It’s all about maximizing the performance, and make sure it plays competitively.”

Praising the Xbox One X, Nanni said, “Xbox One X is awesome. When you give us hardware we’re going to maximize it, that’s what we do. We build on PC, and PC we take advantage of the latest and the greatest video cards. But we also have to support the older video card as well. If we wind up supporting the Xbox we have to make sure it runs on the Xbox One X and the old Xbox.

“It’s about making sure that everybody who gets to play the game doesn’t have a poor experience regardless of their set up. Because if you give a poor experience in a competitive environment, you really can’t blame yourself anymore for the mistakes that happen, or the person skills. Sometimes you got to blame the hardware. And that’s not fun. So we don’t want the hardware to ever become a discussion point when it comes to especially a console.”

Parity across both consoles will be tough especially for games like Destiny 2 where Bungie insists on staying at 30 FPS on both Xbox One and Xbox One X to maintain the same experience. Then again, this is something that Microsoft should’ve known would happen, especially with multiplayer-centric games. We’ll see how that pans out in the coming months.

Sounds like its being held off due to the XBO.

Where did you read that? I read another article where Cliff says he has a small team and it only made sense to build for the larger install base first. His team is just not big enough to build all at once. If that game is pushing 60fps at native 4k on the Pro then that tells me this game is not very demanding of the hardware.

This truth matters very little with how the spin doctors will extrapolate negatives against everything xbox...

I hope this makes sense I'm hammered...

It looks rather pretty though. Check out the videos of it. The movement is pretty fast and twitchy

Reminds me of Titanfall but with an Indiana Jones whip-play.

The game looks fine. I'm interested in it personally. If Titanfall 2 has moments, however brief, of pushing 6k on XBOX, I can only imagine what Lawbreakers might do.

Haha, if I had a choice of who to get hammered with, it'd be you, @Zack, and @hrudy, lol. You guys always say funny s***. I'd include Bellybama in that list, but I'd need a bodyguard in case I passed out!

They are plenty of others I'd have beers and hang with here, though - that's why I love this forum!

You say that as if I'd let you get unconscious...

It'd be more like that scene in A Clockwork Orange, with the eyes pried open and while your strapped down...

"I had dreamed about the moment you came to me with beer in hand and requested my company"

Alas...it was only just a dream.
P.S. I hate you.

Yeah Sony didn't start taking pre-orders for the Pro until September, of course that was when it was officially announced as well. Not sure if we'll have to wait that long with the X1X but it wouldn't surprise me if so. We'll just have to pay attention if we want to make sure we get one on day one :)

Lol, you are definitely among the "plenty of others", bro :D I was specifically alluding to the "getting hammered" portion of which I rarely do. Those mentioned are the funny guys of whom wouldn't piss me off ;)

This is a good read

"...So what about all these games running at 30fps? “We made a clear, conscious decision to say, if you have a 900p or 1080p engine running on Xbox One, you’re going to be able to that in 4K on Xbox One X,” he says. “That was the design goal. It’s really up to the developer. I’m sure developers will chose to do something else and that’s great – they may run at 30fps, because they want more artistry, they may use checkerboarding because they want more visual effects. But we designed it to do 4K, we know it can be done.”

While Mark Cerny said true 4k gaming needs 8 TF.

If that was the case why the f*** they came up with the ps4 pro in the first place?

It gives a near 4K quality for a good price, a console that can do true 4K on all games is going to cost a lot more than $499 right now. Neither of these consoles is a "true 4K" machine, one is closer than the other but native 4K is still requires a lot more power than you can put into a console. Of course some games will be native 4K, the One X will see more of them than the Pro for sure but even the majority of what has been announced so far for the One X isn't native 4K. At the end of the day it'll be hard to tell the difference anyway as long as the dev uses the proper techniques, I don't think many people would even be talking about the native vs non native methods if it wasn't for Spencer continually saying "4K no compromises" for a year.

Spencer was asked about 30 vs 60 fps before and basically said that visual upgrades have as big of an impact as framerate on gameplay. It was never designed to double framerates, that's just pie in the sky thinking from overly excited fans. MS never promised 60 fps upgrades for games on X1X, it actually annoys me when I see on twitter some people talking about the One X as a let down because the games aren't all 60 fps.
