They make billions on gaming on the billions of Microsoft Windows PCs out there. And of course, billions on Xbox and now mobile devices. No wonder MS is almost at $2 Trillion. Cha Ching!
Sounds like they're still debating when to port their old PS4 console exclusive games over to the PC from that quote. Once that well has dried up (which we don't know when, could be a few years, could take the whole generation), they'll probably look at old PS5 console exclusives then to port over.
He did emphasize that Playstation will be the best place to play their first party games at launch. So I would say that's their primary focus right now.
Yup, at launch. It's still cool that they want to put PS5 games on PC. It's a win win for consumers. I do feel bad for Val though. He said PS5 games will NEVER be on PC. Looks like Sony proved him wrong.

As does Xbox, which just came off of record revenue and record profits. CHA CHING. And now with 23 game studios and 35 teams, it's all cashola now baby!
Now to wait if they will decide on doing what MS has done, launching their exclusives day 1 on both console and PC.
But from that quote, sounds like it's still far away, if ever.

So you have to agree, this is great news for gamers around the world. More people can play their games. No negatives there. I am glad Sony has accelerated their goal on this.
PS5 games will be on PC during the PS5 generation, most likely yet this year. Just like they put PS4 games on the PC during the PS4 generation.
Difference is, Sony is more focused than ever to put their games on PC, and now according to Sony, mobile devices.
That is great news for gamers.
Luckily, as successful as the Xbox division has been, and the record sales of the Xbox Series, 23 game studios, 35 teams AND Microsoft's own Microsoft Windows, it looks like it's great games for ALL gamers. And that is a win win for gamers around the world.
Indeed. MS makes bank on their games, whether they are sold on XBL, Best Buy, Amazon and Steam. MS just prints money.
Yeah they'll decide but that could be tomorrow or the next generation.
If it's anything like the PS4 gen, it'll probably be a few years after they've sold enough on the consoles.
Yes, it's great finally PC exclusive gamers can experience the greatness that are Sony console exclusives.
MS gets ZERO royalties from non-MS software on windows. except those on MS app store, which is why so few software dev bother. MS doesn't charge developers releasing software on Windows
And the self awareness.
MS get a ton in Windows royalties every time someone buys a Microsoft PC for gaming. Which is apparently everyone since apparently nobody needs an Xbox because miraculously everyone has a gaming rig.
MS also gets money for every Xbox game sold on Xbox, Steam, Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, Target, GameStop, Microsoft Store, New Egg...
Put 23 studios worth of games in all those stores and on billions of devices and with millions of Game Pass and XBL subs, we are talking bank.
For me, I just want games and games accessible to all. It’s a win win.
Actually that isn't true anymore.
Microsoft and their cloud business structure (Azure)makes the money.
They make more than Google cloud.
Azure is bigger than Windows when it comes to revenue for Microsoft.
Google cloud is the stadia of cloud. And yeah, azure is pretty impressive; you can damn near spin up a new virtual machine scale set in less time than it takes to boot a workstation, or just use the platform services and have damn near infinite compute or storage.
Yeah I saw that, it's cool. I wonder what changes will be made aside from lower resolution for the 60fps mode.
Hated swimming part of most games, especially those that required you to hold breath .
Even if ps5/4 games are released day one on pc, they’ll still play better on PlayStation because it’ll work upon initial play, no worrying about drivers/software or any form of adjustments and or compatibility with hardware inside out outside the box, anything with less stress or worries is where I’m gonna play
Not watching cos of spoilers, did watch like a few seconds, but yeah, mods like that are pretty sweet indeed…would be cool if Sony allowed it, didn’t they allow mods on a few games during the ps3 era? Does Skyrim or there Bethesda games still allow it on console?
