The game ran fine on XSX until the last patch a few weeks ago, then something happened and broke what was working fine for us. Not sure if they were trying to improve PC or what but the game ran great on XSX other than a handful of major FPS drops (like once a match or not even as frequently).

Dice has the worst communication in all of gaming too. They shoot themselves in the foot and they do this every holiday. They take the holiday off, but they completely go dark. Then they show up on Wednesday telling everyone "we all need a break" which of course they do but you don't say that out loud. They don't even come back right after new years with anything. Everyone takes time off this time of year, but they seem to go dark for like 3 weeks and don't realize they are the only ones doing it. Now one of their big people deleted the tweet.

Maybe it is a European vs American thing, but in the US you would never not communicate with your job for 2-3 weeks straight. They are also supposedly running an AAA live service game, yet they just go dark.

They don't even have a regular community manager who organizes this. They post a picture which might be a new map coming but no info.

It is just so frustrating, because they bring a lot of it on themselves. Sure, people are going to blast them anyway, but communicate a little better. They probably will have another patch out soon (they've been good putting them out), but they'll just keep quiet about it.

Nothing to do with location, it is EA. They have the worst communication across all their games.

I always used to wonder why FIFA always launched with so many issues, and then I got in the FIFA 22 beta and experienced the reason for myself. They just flatout don't listen, don't acknowledge, and don't communicate. A month long beta, nothing changed at launch. Here we are 4 months after launch and 4 patches later and they still haven't addressed anything.

EA are just a terrible company.

Same with Activision and all the COD devs. These huge companies only care about keeping the cash flowing and don’t give a damn about the people that actually continue to play their games. Crazy the s*** they get away with.

They all do it, but 2042 is struggling badly. They can't afford to do it. Fifa/COD will be fine, 2042 really might not make it.

Been playing breakthrough bots with my mate it's actually pretty fun, and get to unlock everything too. Made a noshar tdm server too.

If you don't listen then what do you expect. Completely destroy a beloved franchise that made them alot of money just to sell overpriced skins.

COD and FIFA aren't fine either, they are going the way of BF too.

There's a good game hidden in here for when they get around to fixing and adding content to it. Breakthrough with 128 people is actually a ton of fun.

There is a good game, just need to add back legacy features amongst other things.

Also still getting a bug where I can't spawn, almost every second game, would be infuriating if it didn't load so fast.

So, finally some news. Probably not enough to win some over, but I still think this game can recover.

Game is screwed. PC numbers are almost non-existent and it is rapidly tumbling down the most played list on Xbox.

Unless they make huge fundamental changes this game is done.

I played this a bit over the F2P weekend on the Series X. I was expecting a dumpster fire in terms of performance based on what I've read/seen, but it actually seemed pretty smooth to me. I thought it was pretty fun, though I would probably best describe it as "wild". The games I played were just utter chaos.

The game plays well on console. Dice does themselves no favors by taking a month long vacation and having horrible communication which just makes it worse.

Game is terrible on Series X|S, get big game stutters/hitches/game stalls on 128 player AOW mode only. Same was happening to my friends in the same match. This was NOT a network lag issue either. Game ran totally fine performance wise in 64 player portal matches though.

Heard on a podcast couple days ago that some cheat provider is doing away with their BF cheats to their subscribers saying the game is dying and all the bugs and performance issues also mess with their cheats lol.

The player counts are really, really down for sure. Like not just gamer drama bad, but nobody is actually playing the game bad.

It can bounce back though. It sold really well and lots of us are just waiting for info. In all seriousness, if they are going to take a month off from anything, they should just hold releases for spring. Basically I think the thing to do is wait until season 1 launches sometime in spring hopefully with some new maps and weapons.

How the mighty BF has fallen. I’m surprised how they’ve f*** this game up. I’m just going to wait till it hits GP to try or it goes Free to Play.

Definitely wait and see. I think it can bounce back. It sold well, so people own it. If it gets good, people will be back.

Definitely hold off though. There's always a chance that EA just pulls the plug like Anthem. I don't think that will happen though.

They've got to do some sort of season pass, as one of the editions came with it, so people already paid for more content.

Just like No Man's Sky, some of the criticism was valid, but some of it was just the internet piling on. People are making this sound like a combination of Cyberpunk + BF4s launch and it isn't that bad. People don't like some design decisions and that's fair, but I still think it can be a lot of fun once you get past the changes.

I'm one of the few long time BF fans who actually thinks Specialists were a good idea (dons fire proof suit). I think it represents more how modern gamers play. The class system was a great concept that still could never change how people played. You can't make players play a game the way we want.
