Destiny Beta (official thread)

i have the app for it but it only pulls my friends list from my xbox 360 and not my xbox one. Did I do something wrong?
 
I dont think u did anything wrong, maybe try logging out and back in through the app maybe? i am not sure why it did that.
 
Im not going to be in the beta, but my interest in Destiny has grown over the past few days. I like what Ive read about the rpg elements in the game. The only troubling, yet awesome, thing about the loot is that its not procedurally generated. Which means each piece of armor, or weapon should be unique in its model, that I like. It also means that the amount of weapons and armor could be very limited, that bothers me. Hopefully Bungie has went overboard with the amount of weapon & armor models. Im a complete sucker for earning gold, and getting loot.

I really think I'll enjoy the game. Bungie has never let me down. Except with Halo 2. But that's another story...

Well, anyways it's finally almost here. I have never been interested in a beta for a game I'm not that intrigued to begin with. Part of me hopes to be pleasantly surprised, but for the most part it almost feels like I'm so eager to be underwhelmed. Still feel strange that this is a Bungie game I'm talking about.

DL codes are up for X1 right now. I'm installing now. Not sure if the beta is actually playable yet on X1 however...
 
I downloaded/installed the game and watched the first cutscene, but I don't seems able to play the game yet.

Loving it on the X1 more with the controller. I can't even tell it's 900p vs. the 1080p I played on the PS4 beta. Better color too.
 
i can certainly tell its 900p but you have to look for it

anyway the game still felt meh. but my group is playing it later today so thats when the real test comes
 
It looks 100% identical in res compared to the PS, and that is a good thing.
 
Played a bit of the Beta last night. Not exactly the best looking game in the world but the gameplay was smooth, feedback from the weapons is awesome! You can tell Bungie put a lot of heart and soul into this game though. I'll play around with it a little more today.

That is strange I have played the alpha and beta on PS4 and doesn't look one bit washed out. You changed your post you sneaky bastard.:)
 
Plays exactly like Halo, graphics look great/gameplay, wow it's like Halo with added MMO elements.

Can you play multiplayer vs or only co-op games?

I have two extra beta codes for Xbox One, so anyone can send me a private message.

Spent a little time on it. It definitely has that bungie feel of polish and shine on it. Just "tight". I'm not so sure about some of the UI elements, especially the inventory screens where you move the pointer around, I think it would have been better with just moving a cursor around. Very very early in the game so far so my opinions are very basic, but so far I like what I see.
