This is weird. I'm the only person playing right now. Can't see anyone else

Yeah I was having issues seeing anyone online too. When I tried to check my friends I got a message saying, "unable to display friends at this time". It would show that I had 6 friends online, 2 favorites, but wouldn't show any info.

I also think the game looks pretty good. Love the style. Plus fun missions.

@Flynn

I don't think the graphics look last gen remastered, plus I think the texture quality is really good.

Have you seen the 360 version?

It takes more than a bump in resolution of frame buffer and textures for me to call a game next gen looking. Heck, the bad reflections in the ugly puddles are even the same on 360.

It's ok that you don't agree. You're wrong, but that's ok. :)

If it was as is, but ran at 60fps (or at least, that was the target with some dips here and there), then I would think otherwise... but it's just extremely poor technologically, given the competition and budget/expectations.

Regardless of how last gen and this gen compare, it's still very impressive how great it looks given how big the areas are.

I actually got some time to play this today. Been a hectic several months.

I kind of dig the game overall - the RPG/customization aspect is nifty, and I actually like occasionally running across other players now and then. The story seems like it could be interesting enough, too. I imagine the upgraded Hunter class could be a lot of fun - as it is, the double jump is nice.

What I don't like is the artificial difficulty of 'darkness zones' coupled with the stupid AI that allows me to get through it. In several of those areas, the path to survival was trigger spawn points, run backwards, have the enemies follow you to a certain point and then they run the heck away. The most egregious for me was the mission where you have to take out the "Wizard", and the enemies other than the acolytes whose name I don't remember are basically dumb bumrushing you. I'd just run down the stairs, shoot them as they ran down, and one time out of five I'd have to back up further. down into the chamber before the door. That was actually fun, but I was completely incapable of doing several of the missions otherwise (though, admittedly, that may be a side effect of playing the hard difficulty options).

The mission where you have to get your ghost to a terminal and then endure the fallen attack was annoying as hell. Luckily the dropback option worked again, but I had no idea if we were just supposed to make time or kill everyone or protect the ghost or whatnot - and my son's reaction watching me ("another captain? Really? That's like three!" summed it up. Some checkpointing between waves would be highly appreciated.

Probably not going to have the kind of time needed to play it regularly after it releases, so it'll likely be skipped like I did with Titanfall. It does seem like fun, though, but I'm not sure it really handles the difficulty scaling well and seems more cheap than requiring skill. Luckily, having no skill, I could get by on the cheap but that didn't seem ideal. At its best, it did feel a lot like Halo with the excitement and the music, plus a little of Mass Effect 2.

The moon is especially jaw dropping. From the way the surface is broken open in the background to the way the shadows are slowly moving across the landscape.

Anyone know the website that you can view all the clips saved by the "Record that" feature on X1? I have a few videos I'd like to post on here but don't want to go through the hassle of doing it from my X1.

Edit: Found the site, but it looks like it's having issues right now. Bummer, now you'll all have to wait longer to see vids of me dancing in strange places around the Tower.

What's the site?

It's not weird, everyone stopped playing this POS

The over/under on how many more times MW proclaims his distaste for Destiny before September 9th is currently at 55.

We get it. You don't like Destiny. Move on.

Graphically the game has a great art style but the graphics could be better, it's a good looking game not an amazing looking game, of course it's also being made for 360 and PS3 so that could be part of the reason why. Take the sky for example, it's really pretty but it hardly looks realistic, flat 2D clouds that look more like a painting than something natural. I'm not knocking the game when I say that either, I do think it looks good and I appreciate the art style a lot but I can't say that I think Bungie is pushing the hardware the way they should be.

That being said I really do think this game is going to be a huge seller, I was just at my local gamestop pre ordering TLOU and everyone in line was talking about Destiny, the clerk said they already had well over 600 pre orders at that store, he also mentioned over half were for the PS4.

Downloaded the beta for 360 late last night while I was sleeping. Going to check it out today. When does this Beta end?

Game is good even the PVP with the exception of the Moon level that although is sexy in looks reminds of why I don't like Halo MP.

Agreed, the moon level is pretty bad, considering this is coming from the guys who brought us Halo (which IMO has the most fun and balanced vehicles in any FPS), the use of vehicles in Destiny's PVP multiplayer is just plain awful.

There's no exact time, but it's supposed to be sometime tonight, though Bungie could extend it another half day or full day.

well the game doesnt/didnt blow me away but i am still getting it. unlocking cool looking weapons that are level 9 is annoying lol

my worry is when i get the game am i gonna have to do ALL of this again -_-

well if that is true no buy form me. I simply don't trust them not to do small ass expansions at $20 a pop plus a few strike missions here and there for 5 or 10 dollars a pop. I talked about them doing this before and the reason I may not pick up the game. This may have confirmed what my fears as it were.

you know what f*** it not even going to think about getting the game. it's only going to stay good if you buy all the new content as it comes out.

Played the beta. I liked it was fun. I doubt I will get it on 360 if I do decide to get it I will wait till I get a One. That is disappointing how much content it will have at launch. Seems small.

Seems like the game has the potential to be a money-suck. Kind of disappointed in that news. Shady.
