Its basically the size of tablet with near 50% of the power of the most powerful console on the market.

I'm guessing tablets will out muscle consoles in 3 years at this pace. Embarrassing, but then again not saying much.

How is this even possible though? I thought everyone poo pooed the concept of cloud based gaming?

Couldn't Microsoft or Sony completely follow this path and have games running on super computers that far exceed what we have today that could be streamed to whatever box that's on the other end?

Sony already do with their PS Now service.
MS could easily do it using azure.

Funny thing is that people are getting excited by positive hands on impressions that are based on controlled demonstrations that don't really reflect a real world scenario. Nobody even knows(if it has been said please share)what kind of Internet service is being used in these demonstrations either. All I have seen said is that it is a consumer grade comcast connection, but doesn't comcast do a 100Mbps service?

I know I have been negative in here, but I do hope it works and works extremely well. However, it needs to do that on realistic speeds. Needing 45Mbps for a good solid service is simply a failure, IMO.

It is interesting for sure, I may pick one of these up for on the go gaming and entertainment. This looks like a great thing to bring down on vacation this summer.

Can you use some kind of external hard drive or USB to download games and be able to play them without the need of a online connection?

There is the microsd slots and usb slots to add external hdd, i think there will be games on the google play store you will be able to download to play if i understood correctly as well as the game streaming from grid but the big draw will be the game streaming which is what i am excited about.

I doubt most people have the 100mb connection from comcast i would say most will likely have at least 25 mb if not lower so i am sure they would have taken that into account i hope. When i played ps now i didnt experience lag so i am hoping this will be even better than that. I think nvidia said you can stream at least 720p games with i think 5 mb connection i thought i read that somewhere but i might be mistaken on that maybe it was 10 to 15mbps.

Android quality games.
You do know its weaker then the current consoles right?

Locally yeah, but that's not why people would buy it. I'm not going to buy Witcher 3 and play it locally, I'll be playing 1080p/60fps

Yeah, 150ms Latency is waaay too much. I think latency for a local 30fps game is 33ms? That's nearly five times less responsive. I don't think so.

Yeah, if your internet is running optimally, and with delayed inputs- which makes 60fps moot. At least it'll look smooth, even if it doesn't play that way.

This is why MS always said that the cloud would be used for non-input reliant calculations. Unless you live next door to a hub, I don't see how you are going to avoid it.

Is it true the machine only has 16GB of space? Could you even PUT Crysis 3 on it locally?

Where are all the "always online, I want to own my games" warriors that puked all over the internet when MS wanted a digital console (that you could still play if your internet goes down). I guess it's not Microsoft, so it's okay now.

150ms and that would be best case on the very lowest latency displays, no doubt.

Yikes.

Every game would feel worse than pre-patch Killzone 2.

None have been announced yet. I'm fine with it for just multiplatform and 4k movies, I'll get a 4k TV this year.

Not going to get it. One console all I need this gen, not to mention streaming only? Yuck.

I've lost connection to my internet maybe twice in 6 months with blazing fast speed, I'm down. Not waiting for huge downloads anymore, and huge performance gains as well.

That's nice. I prefer the least amount of lag latency when I game.

Even with the gaming monitor I have, the response controls when playing Shadow of Mordor wasn't good at all. It felt weird. Can't imagine how another game running like that on 150ms lag latency would be like. Well, different strokes, I suppose.

It's not for everyone for sure. But for some like me that could either get another Vita ( baby nephew dropped it in the dogs water bowl) or this, I think this is a much more interesting device.

If it works as advertised.

I want to see what other games they will port to android, just crazy that android is able to run those games. If nvidia has data centers across the country i think that can help when u go to streaming a game but if its just one area i think lag might be a problem. This is still a very cool device and something i would want to have i think.

Yeah some games I will stay away from, but my experience with streaming has been good thus far, can't imagine a device built around it.
