PS5 clock bs exposed
Cerny said 10% drop in power usage= a couple percent drop in performance which still has the PS5 @10 TF's.To be fair, when I posted that tweet I did a little research myself and posted it underneath where Cerny said they were using set profiles in the dev kit but smartshift would take advantage of the full power on release. Red also says devs were using set profiles but the updated dev kits have since been updated to take advantage of smartshift. I also found his explanation a little confusing as he was talking about voltage rather than ghz where the supposed leaked profile was showing the CPU and GPU were set ghz for devs.

Wrong the proper external would let you play PS5 games.
Possible issue is no external ATM supports the PS5 specs.
We have known for a long time you can't play PS5 games from the external drive why is anyone making this out to be a surprise? you can't play XSS/XSX games from any plain external drive either it has to be their proprietary one because the games are made to use the SSD's. Sony's SSD has a lot of custom work/hardware involved so it would be impossible to just plug in and play a PS5 game from any random SSD. You can replace the internal one with one they've tested and approved but you'll likely need one that's going to be faster than the one included with the drive to help make up for some of the differences in design. You can play PS4 games from the external drives but not PS5, that has been known for months.
wait, we’re supposed to replace it instead of adding another internal ssd?
wonder if that location is a problem for heat, is that why we need to replace it instead?
You replace it just like you do the internal PS4 HDD, you'll be able to remove it and add a larger one, just make sure it's one Sony has tested and approved first.
still find it weird it’s not an “in addition to” the existing one, hope they give us a storage case with proper shielding
Ray tracing features will be available upon release for the PlayStation 5 version, and will be added to the Xbox Series X version in a downloadable patch post release.
There will be a compartment the SSD will be saddled into inside of the console to which you will have access to from the outside. Every PlayStation console except for the original PlayStation adopts this method. An "in addition to" would simply make it proprietary, which are generally more expensive and limited.
I think i said that wrong. It won't be like a memory card that sticks out of the console.
