The PS5 SSD isn't in a bay at all. The bay was designed specifically for an off the shelf SSD, as he mentions. He makes this very clear when he mentions the fact that you are able to ADD to that storage and not replace it. He also compares their SSD to that after market SSD when it comes to running games 100x faster.
Microsoft has released all of their games on the PC day and date and have now moved that to mobile devices. In addition to that, they've released those same games on their current generation hardware and then made it forward compatible while pushing the narrative that next-generation hardware doesn't matter.
I just see this being far different from what Sony is doing with the PlayStation strategy. But because the waters have been so murky from Microsoft's "consumer friendly" strategy, you can't really talk about one without directly relating it to Microsoft's strategy where next-gen hardware or exclusives doesn't matter anymore.
