So now we're back to criticize the naming... lol

No we are having fun with the naming because there were clearly some people that were confused today and you should be the last one saying anything about anyone being critical when you kept pushing BS about PS5 forever and laugh at any post anyone makes that doesn't praise the XSX :p

I do find the confusion a little silly, I know the names are pretty similar, but I don't know about you guys I at least do a bit of research before dropping hundreds on anything.

It's not people like us that would have the problem, most people probably won't anyway but it's just easy to see how a confused stressed out parent who is trying to get what their kid wants for Christmas would hear xbox and see the letter and get the wrong thing. Hopefully by the time Xmas comes around the One X won't be available and it won't be an issue, part of the problem today was when some people searched on amazon for Xbox Series X it took them right to the One X instead, I think their pre-order page didn't go up on time because I checked it at a little after 8:00 and it went straight to the One x.

Yea that is stupid that searching for a SeriesX redirects you to the 1X I can see the confusion there.

A lot of crying kids on Christmas, lol. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being a huge story.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it redirects people to the XB1X because the Xbox Series X is clearly the first result. That is just the nature of how a search engine works.

Microsoft could have named the consoles A and B and there would be confusion.
It's not the possibility, its the probability. Having names that sound so similar increase the probability of confusion.

It's beneficial to have names that doesn't sound so similar when possible.

If you don't overeat, you will not be fat. Fat people everywhere. What should & what people actually do/not do is 2 different things.

The idea is not to have to make sure EVERYONE is not confuse, that's impossible. But it is certainly possible to ensure the majority of people are not confuse.

In my job, I take great effort to make sure the parts I design can be assembled by a dummy, & my documents are as impossible to misinterpreted as possible, every time.

When I was young & gullible, I said to one of the manager the foolproof design he suggest wasn't need. We just need to train the operators in the factory how to correctly assemble. He said, the shift kept changing & people get tired after hours of work, & also if they have issue asemmble result in scrapes, it is you they will blame.

In the case of MS, it's NOT even hard, its just a name change, minimum brain juice required, & it is actually HARDER to make names that sound similar than not, yet they manage to do it.

Hopefully the One X stock will be completely depleted by then, any issue that does pop up will probably be the One S and Series S.

Amazon doesn’t work the way all these reports are saying it does. It’s a sales rank increase not a unit increase. The One X was discontinued and the only one that is available and in the ranking is refurbished ones.

So no one was confused it’s just poor journalism.

Poor journalism, impossible. Take it back before you ruin their impeccable image.

Been saying this was a issue all along.

Casuals will be confused by the terrible naming scheme.

Apple and Samsung have household brand names so can afford to do this.

At the end of the day- who cares? You know the difference. I know the difference. I don't have much sympathy for people who don't research large purchases. Hell, I can't buy anything without reading reviews on my phone for products I'm not familiar with. Perhaps it'll be a learning opportunity for the smooth-brains who drop 500 bucks on something they knew nothing about. Honestly. Is it a bit confusing? Sure. Is it that big a deal? No.

Just for the hell of it I typed in Xbox Series X in the search a little after 8:00 am on Amazon and it brought up Xbox One X, I'm guessing some people thought that was it. I'm sure the actual number of people who ordered them isn't all that high as it hasn't been selling well since it was discontinued so a 700% increase probably isn't all that many people but just seeing that percentage was funny, goes well with this lol.

That's on Amazon. I had the same issue until I realized it was only searching electronics (as it should). To find the SeX, you have to do an "all" search, which doesn't make sense.

Think of all poor souls who wake up Xmas day and get an X1X instead of the XSX.

You're cold, heartless, a monster.

I mean, if you go past the first two I can clearly see a failure in our educational system....

When I do a search it takes me to Xbox One X and has zero Series X because mine is only searching in the electronics section. You literally have to look in "all departments" to find it. So that's Amazon screwing it up. I can easily see people going to the Electronics section where it belongs and not finding it.

When I was a kid, and wanted something specific, I made sure my parents knew what it was. If there was something similar, I would say "not this, that thing" to make sure they didn't mess it up. I know you are being facetious, but I actually do expect people to engage their brains, and if they don't.. well, it's not like a kidney transplant or something. Better to learn that life lesson on some first world problem.

When I was a kid, they had a kids Christmas section in the JC Penny's catalogs that came in the mail. It had toys, sleds, games, etc. I would go through that catalog every fall and circle things I wanted for Christmas and fold the corners back on the page. I miss those days.

And here i thought you'd go right to the back where the lingerie section was.... don't ask how I know where it was...

Believe me, I saw my fair share of bras in the catalogs. Hubba hubba was my thoughts back then.

So... with Doom, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Prey, Wolfenstein, Dishonered, Starfield, Halo, Gears, Forza e.t.c... would MS console be considered a better console exclusive platform than Sonys?
