Yeah the hate wasn't at TV.

It was forced Kinect
Online every 24 hours or games wouldn't play
Tried to kill the 2nd hand market
Being much more expensive than the PS4

And so on
I think it wasn’t forced Kinect initially, until people saw the price and were like, we don’t need that if it mashed it much more expensive
 
Xbox Series X tools getting better = better performance.
PS5 tools going to mature as well. Both systems underutilized.

I agree with this. Both systems aren't even in the ballpark of their potential. Have to wait until devs start making true next gen games with APIs designed to maximize next gen hardware. Throughput is a big part of next gen tech and it's hardly leveraged for anything outside of load times yet.

RDNA 3 and PS5







Today MLiD also had a senior software engineer and they discussed some of it, I've added in the quotes but couldn't make out 1 or 2 words so I've added in the time stamped links as well.

Software Engineer: You want to focus more on average bandwidth, or in particular latency and general efficiency rather than just raw bandwidth and to some degree brute forcing things can help but something that's come up, on the PS5 they've talked about this thing on the GPU that clears the caches on loading stuff...and that's basically something you have to do when your doing DMA and your modern CPU will have efficient support for DMA, but that's being added to GPU's now and they need better optimisation for that...

I actually looked through RDNA 2 instruction set and I noticed they had things for clearing the whole cache but I couldn't see anything for selective cache clearing so that does seem to be PS5 specific...and that specific example, they might just copy it from PS5...and the reason you need to clear the cache is if you've sneakily transferred something from the background into main memory and you have a copy of the old data in cache that's now stale, you need to clear it from the cache if it is in the cache and if you don't know it's in the cache, the only thing you can safely do is to clear the cache or accept the fact that you're going to have graphics glitches. I'm not going to promise which way AMD will implement it into RDNA 3 but one of those two will be very likely

It's a semantics thing to talk about RNDA3. It doesn't make it automatically better than RDNA2. What features exactly are you comparing? There are console customizations that are not part of PC RDNA2 that may be in their RDNA3 cards. So technically you can say it has some RDNA3. In terms of real life, practical purposes, without explaining what those customizations help achieve, it's kind of meaningless.

...and I still say the biggest wild card is ML. That could potentially trump all other efficiencies combined....or barely at all. Just a wild card in which we don't fully understand each system's efficiencies with yet.

PS5 has no RDNA3. Deluded People just cannot accept the PS5 integrated GPU is weaker than its competition. It's still a capable console. just because you want something to be true, doesn't make it true.
