wonder if it would play smoother if you have the Xbox one version and not download the series x version upgrade?
Does it even normally play in 60fps on the Xbox One? They said that it has 30fps mode at 1440p. I'm not sure what the problem is, personally. Yes, the 60fps should be 1080p (not 900p), especially when you consider that this is the same amount of pixels/sec as 1440p/30. I see this as more proof of it being the developer's problem. Still, at least they're giving people the F-ing option! Amazing how having an option for a locked 60fps mode is grabbing attention because it's at a lower resolution, when you could just play it at 1440p/30, like so many PS4 Pro games this gen. Does anyone who's going to get a Series S care? No.

Yeah end of the day, less options aren't going to result in the devs making better resolutions per frame. Maybe it's old age but I'm finding myself more sensitive to 30 fps these day. Yakuza is disappointing in terms of optimization. Been that way on One X and PC as well. Just an outdated game engine.

Playstation 4 Pro was a joke "upgrade" before it was even released. And that was SONY's version of a premium PS4.

Quick resume means absolutely nothing to me. I'm annoyed that this completely worthless feature, to me, and I assume many others, is the reason we can't run games off standard external HDDs. Stupid.

you can run Xbox one games off the external HDD i believe

obviously cant run Series X games off a HDD since they are built to use the SSD (like on PS5, and that doesnt have quick resume)

and i bet you will grow to love Quick Resume ;)

They said you can use an external HDD for back compat. I wonder if you don't get quick resume if you do....

I think you can use external HDD for games, just won't be able to take advantage of Quick Resume and maybe some other features.

He'll use it every time he plays his Series X though, so he will indeed end up liking it.

I don't post much anymore but I think quick resume even works for games that are on an External HDD as the game progress is stored on the SSD. I can't recall where I heard that but might have been Larry Herb.

This is a fact. The SSD houses the quick resume cache.
