TD,
I don't follow football much, but all the guys I was with didn't have confidence in Atlanta even when it was 28-3. Atlanta is inexperienced, they had a good record playing in a crap division, they have a bad defence, and they give up a lot of points in the second half.
All came true.
But honestly, when it was 28-3, did you really think NE would come back? There was maybe a touch less than half a game left at that time.
They showed a graphic. Boston based pro teams had won 39 championships to Atlanta's 1. Now it's 40-1.
Boston is one of those cities like NY and Pittsburgh that seem to have frequent success in many sports. Atlanta is like Buffalo, SD, Toronto, and many more. Lots of pro teams, little success in the past maybe 30-40 years..
Haha. 36, 39, pfff.... too many to count. lolThink it's 37-1 but who's counting.
Yeah, i've joked with people that i can rest easy knowing my sports teams have all won multiple championships in my lifetime. I'm spoiled, and i love it. Seen the good times and the bad with all of them.
Best SB I've seen that I can remember.
What were the Falcons thinking? Up by 8, and FG distance and they kept trying to pass. Got sacked, punted and NE came back to tie it. All they had to do is rush the ball a few times, kick a FG and be up by 11 with 5 minutes to go.
Offensive coordinator should be fired.
Lol. Kyle was probably the best offensive coordinator in the NFL this season. Did you pay attention to how many points per game they put up the entire season and that they have one of the best passing attacks in football? Atlanta was simply using its greatest strength, which is the passing attack game. New England's defense just stepped up and made huge plays on that drive. What if they handed the ball off and the running back fumbled ? There's never any guarantees. that's just football.Best SB I've seen that I can remember.

Against Seattle there's a distinctive difference when you have Marchon Lynch as you're running back, on the opponents 1 yard line with one timeout left. This particular drive, Atalanta was trying to get closer to field-goal range so the kicker not have to shoot for something 50 yards out. Their offense had really not made any mistakes and It was perfectly fine . The error was made by the running back completely blowing his blocking coverage on hightower, giving him a wide open lane to the quarterback. The holding penalty certainly didn't help either. Even after the fumble , there was plenty of time left in the game so that one particular drive certainly did not cost the Falcons the football game. New England still needed two scores at that point to win.I will say that the last two times the Patriots were in the Super Bowl, late game ridiculous catches that put their opponents in a situation to pretty well win if they just run the ball every play have turned out where attempting to throw prevents the team from scoring points that probably would win the game (though I've seen enough of the Pats to know that even if the FG gets kicked or Biscuits 'n' Gravy scored the TD instead of the Wilson pick, I wouldn't rule out Brady going 99 yards in one play with 3 seconds on the clock to still win).

Was a Celtics fan back in the day when Bird and gang rules. The Best of Boston Celtics dvd set is phenomenal. WTF? It's going for $400 on Amazon.ca!?!? lol
I have this at home too. Only diff is the frame is black instead of green.

It's also called self accountability as a player . Allowing the ball to be stripped away , running back completely not picking up on the blitz and blowing the pass protection. And the holding call. Way too many mistakes . And for a defense to allow 26 total points scored in one quarter along with one drive in overtime is not going to win too many big games . Overall it was a team loss . New England made and capitalized on the big plays when it matters the most .It's called situational play calling. If the RB fumbles then he fumbles. Two score lead at that point probably wins the game.

I agree plenty of blame to go around. But after Julio's insane catch, either the OC got cute or Ryan checked out of a run. Run the ball and go up by 11.
Bottom line, they F'ed up. If it was my team, I'd be more pissed at the OC.
